Oia is by far the most famous village in Santorini and one of the most unsurpassed in beauty. Of course, there is no shortage of attractions that will intrigue the visitor-a magnificent sunset, houses built in niches inside the volcanic rock, Churches with blue roofs, inspiring views, and an idyllic atmosphere will richly reward the visitor of this unique place.

Blue Dome Imerovigli

Continuing North-West from Fira, we reach Imerovigli. Located at about 300 meters above sea level, Imerovigli is very often referred to as the” balcony of the Aegean sea", and it definitely lives up to this name by offering the most spectacular view of the Aegean sunset. Other attractions include many churches in typical Cycladic architecture, especially the Church of ay-Stratis and the Monastery of Saint Nicholas, as well as The Skaros Rock, where the remains of a medieval fortress are preserved.

Megalochori - Traditional Village

The sights of Megalochori are two impressive churches standing on the village's central square. The Church of the Introduction of the Blessed Virgin Mary, with a wooden iconostasis and Byzantine icons of the Russian school and the church of Agia Anargiri, celebrates July 1, the day a big holiday takes place in the village. The village has been mentioned in written sources since the mid-17th century. It also appears on the map of 1801. Finds on the broader area indicate that it has been inhabited since the early Cycladic and Late Cycladic periods.

Monastery of Profitis Ilias

On the top of the mountain Profitis Ilias (prophet Elias), the highest point of Santorini at an altitude of 600 meters above sea level, there is a monastery of the same name. The village of Pyrgos shows all the magic of Santorini and the signature panoramic views on both sides of the island, but also retains the features of Venetian rule. Beautiful Santorini!

Themistoklis Kalivas was a great tour guide providing detailed information about different locations in Santorini. It was great that he spoke English so the information he provided was interpreted without difficulty. The locations he took us too were absolutely amazing. Made all of the participants very comfortable by answering their questions. Excellent tour operator and tour highly recommend!

Santorini Tours was extremely accommodating. Because we were very late leaving the Norwegian Getaway, we risked missing our start time. We were about 90 minutes late yet the company waited and waited, and arranged a second driver, van, and guide for us. The suggestion to ride the donkeys to the top was really great and memorable! Guide Kostas was knowledgeable, flexible, entertaining, friendly, and very understanding. HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this company and that guide. This is a "no brainer" and the easiest decision of decisions.

Minass was our guide he took us everywhere we wanted to go and even better suggested places we aimed for shopping jewelry photo ops and food of course amazing sites. He took us around the whole island. He was vey nice accommodating and funny. Really easy to get along with and enjoyed the company. We are American from Philadelphia so we can be a lot to handle. Was the best thing we have done our whole time in Greece. And Mario’s restaurant he took us to was amazing and simple and just out of this world. Would highly recommend using this service!!
