Overview

Discover the 'Sistine Chapel' of Valencia. This spectacular church is located in the heart of Valencia. Recently restaurated, this beautiful place only opened to the public recently, even though it is one of the oldest churches in Valencia. Funded over 700 years ago, it was previously a gothic temple reformed in the centuries to come to give it the amazing facade that it has today. At the end of the XVII century, its inside walls were absolutely trasnformed and decorated with stunning paintings until they were comepletely covered by an opulent barroque style, which impresses its world visitors. Thanks to the Fundación Hortensia Herrero maecenas, over 2000m2 of these stunning paintings were restored. San Nicolas it's open from Tuesday to Sunday all day and the ticket includes an audioguide, which comfortable allows you to learn about this church. Visits will be allowed until 1 hour before the church closes. As an exception, on 15 December, the church will be open from 1pm to 6pm.

Gorgeous church totally worth the visit. The audio guide is short and to the point. Paintings are gorgeous This is a small church so you’ll be done in 45 min or less

Having seen many churches and cathedrals, this by far is the most beautiful. It is a feast for the senses and the audio guide helps to locate the body and mind within this baroque masterpiece. The ceiling is a masterclass in making you think you are looking at a flat surface but as you move around you start to see that the ceiling has indentations for windows. The imagery on the ceiling matches the chapels below. The alter is an array of paintings, statuary and gold metal work. I took so many photos but they are minor moments when compared to standing in this beautiful place.

Visited this beautiful church and was not disappointed. It's pretty much the valencia sistine chapel. It is stunning. The ceilings are stunning. The audio guide came free too which was great to have the history. I would say it's a must see.

Please ensure you visit this beautiful church. The moment you enter and look at the ceiling, you will be in awe of the Incredible work. It's so so beautiful. Best seen in person. They provide audio guides which explains everything so well. They allow you to take pictures and videos. Enjoy the beautiful experience

I can’t believe that this church is not world famous. The art on the walls and ceilings is incredible. I found it more impressive than the Sistine Chapel. There are some great churches in Valencia but I thought this was the best, by far. Highly recommended.
