Overview

Our SF in a Day tour will take you places that no other San Francisco tour does, traversing the city by cable-car, rail & bus to visit enchanted gardens, secret stairs & glorious rooftop vistas, creating an unforgettable experience. You’ll avoid crowds at the tourist hot-spots, while experiencing the culture of SF & learning its history. We’ll start your tour near the Embarcadero & take the cable-car up to Nob Hill. From there we go to City Hall (or Cable Car Museum) &, after going inside, we can grab a coffee in Hayes Valley. After that we head to the Castro, then walk through Dolores Park. We finish the morning part of the tour in the Haight, it's a great place to get some lunch. After that we take you to see an icon of San Francisco, the Painted Ladies. That's followed by a walk down another SF icon, Lombard Street. We finish the tour with a walk through North Beach & Chinatown. By then you’ll have had a fantastic experience of SF & made some beautiful memories to take home.

Meeting points

The guide will be checking in guests at the cable car station on the corner of Market and Drumm Street (by the Robert Frost marker), from 15 minutes before the tour is due to begin. Be sure to allow extra time for traffic and finding parking. We CANNOT wait for latecomers, there are other guests.

Your guide will help you orient yourselves, by telling you the history and background of the Ferry Building and downtown San Francisco.

enjoy this fascinating museum about SF's most famous transport feature, which is also the site of the machinery which runs the system (weekends).

Great full day tour!

Great tour of San Francisco. If you only have one day, you will get to see most of the city and ride local transit. Mark is a great storyteller and gives great context to what we were seeing. Tour does not include fisherman’s wharf .area. We enjoyed the tour!

The tour was fantastic, got a lot of history for the city landmarks and got to learn how to use public transport here which was also very useful. I travel for work often but very rarely get to experience the places I travel.

San Francisco Walking And Riding Tour

Mark did not cancel, although there were only 2 of us. He had a great personality and was very knowledge about San Francisco history. We went on the trolley and busses, all around San Francisco. Not counting lunchtime, he spent all 8 hours with us. We visited many sites, including the City Hall, the Castro District, Haight And Asbury, the Painted Ladies houses, and more!!

This tour was a highlight of our Trip! Jamie was so knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. You can tell that he loves his job and this city. He went above and beyond, we couldn't have asked for a better guide. The tour was well-organized, with a thoughtful itinerary that allowed us to see the best of San Francisco without feeling rushed. If you're in San Francisco, especially it's your first time. I highly recommend this tour.
