The workshop was founded in Wellingtonā€™s Miramar Peninsula in 1987 by husband and wife Richard Taylor and Tania Rodgers. Noted New Zealand filmmaker Peter Jackson collaborated with Weta for practical effects from his first feature film, Bad Taste.
