Overview

Immerse yourself in the Middle Ages, visiting one of the most beautiful medieval villages of Italy. You will never forget the ancient towers and the dreamlike landscape by which it is surrounded. The tour will begin from the main gate, Porta San Giovanni, continue towards Piazza della Cisterna, where you can taste the famous ice cream that won many prizes. In the next square admire the Public Palace and the wonderful Cathedral. If you choose to visit the palace, you will explore the Civic Museum and the highest tower of the town, from where you can take wonderful pictures or if you prefer to enter inside the Cathedral you will see the well-preserved frescoes. At the end of the tour enjoy the panorama from the fortress, where today is situated the Vernaccia Museum, the DOCG white wine produced in this area.

Choose if you want to enter or not. Inside the Public Palace there is the Civic Museum, which hosts famous frescos of the 14th century in the Hall of Dante, the Florentine writer and poet. From the museum you can climb the highest tower of San Gimignano (54 meters) called the Big tower, from where you can take incredible pictures.

We had a horrible rainy day! Soaked and chilled but Ricardo was terrific! Entertaining and knowledgeable. Highly recommend him.

We booked a 90 minute private tour of San Gimignano. Roberto our tour guide was fantastic. He was upbeat and has a deep knowledge of San Grimignano. We learned so much and he also gave us a wonderful recommendation for gelato and a place to enjoy lunch. We highly recommend him.

Barbara was very knowledgeable and went out of her way to entertain the child in our group and to accommodate to the rain during our tour. The town and views of the surrounding countryside were truly beautiful. Enjoyed hearing the history behind what we were seeing.
