See the best of the volcano with several moderate walks throughout the day. Our National Park tours allow guests the convenience of using their own vehicle as opposed to a large bus or van.

Meeting points

It will be easy to find your guide a located inside Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Your guide will be standing at the covered area right outside the Volcano House Hotel, and you will be provided with your guides cell phone number as well. Text messaging is preferred.

Your private tour starts at the historic Volcano House hotel, located inside the National Park. Walk to the steam vents and sulphur banks to feel the heat of the volcano coming out of the ground. Walk thru the native rainforest to the devastation trail. Explore the Chain of Craters road to find volcanic landscapes of the past and rare rock formations.

Best tour of Hawaiian Volcanoes National Park

We were referred by Kīlauea Lodge where we were staying in Volcano village as we wanted a local guide for our first visit to Volcanoes park. As a retired couple (SWE and MD) who did undergraduate at MIT together, we appreciate expertise communicated in an understandable manner but in depth. We walked to several sites and drove to one in a highlight tour. Erik our guide and owner chats with you initially to customize all aspects of the tour. He’s super smart trained in geology, volcano science, and married to a native Hawaiian (Malia) who manages the business aspects of Eco Tour. Whether this is your first trip or a return visit, you will maximize your knowledge of Volcanoes National Park by signing up for this tour. Highly recommended by Grace and Simon

Well Worth the Money!

This private tour is well worth the price. Tyson was an awesome and knowledgeable guide. He educated us about volcanoes, plants, animals and culture. He has a degree in geology and a love of Hawaii, so he made the tour personal and very educational. He even gave us a recommendation for delicious shave ice!

Amazing day in the park

Justin is an exceptional guide - very knowledgeable, personable and funny. We saw a lot of the park and learned about the geology, culture and flora. We did not realize that there is not really anywhere for lunch so we wish we had brought something to eat. We stopped for snacks but it was junk food.

We had a great experience with Eric Storm at the Volcanos National Park. He was very informative about the geology, flora and the volcano. He made it both fun and interesting for our group. We had 80yo parents, 14-24yo kids, all of whom were entertained and able to enjoy trekking around the park. We sew new and unique things we wouldn't have seen or wouldn't have had experienced in the same way without the tour. I highly recommend this tour for groups of all ages.

Found this private tour online. Erik was our guide and was great. We like the customized approach and in-depth knowledge of a local expert. We had about 5 different stops/parts. Walked for four of them and hopped into the cars for the last one. Loved it. Lava was flowing so it was even better.
