Overview

WHO WE ARE? Old Plank is a boutique luxury sailing charter & aquatic expedition company with gourmet 5 star cuisine. Founded by Captain Matthew Mancini, we live by the currents, plan by the tides, and follow the sun. WHAT DO WE DO? We take our guests out into a safe sailing environment on the Santa Monica Bay or beyond, where they have the opportunity to experience first-hand the joy of sailing, the rhythm of the ocean and unique pairings of gourmet foods and wines in the sweet briny sea air. We catch sunrises, bake in the mid-day sunshine and relax as the sunsets and the moon rises under starry skies. We play with seals, dolphins, and whales and when appropriate catch fresh seafood to enjoy al-fresco. We are living the Mediterranean dream in Southern California and sharing the experience with valued guests who leave the experience as family OUR MISSION Our mission is to bring the Mediterranean lifestyle to Southern California’s ideal year-round climate.

  • Marina del Rey (Pass By)

    round trip from the largest man made marina in the world housing over 6,500 luxury yachts, while having close encounters with the california wildlife

  • Venice Beach (Pass By)

    Sail past the famous venice boardwalk and historic venice pier

  • Santa Monica (Pass By)

    Sail past the iconic Santa Monica pier with the worlds largest solar Ferris wheel.

  • Malibu (Pass By)

    Make the turn in Malibu and see the icon surf culture and celebrity homes along the beautiful mountainous coastline of Malibu

Beautiful and relaxing

Captain Mancini was a wonderful host, showed us the beautiful beachfront not to mention wonderful hors d’oeuvres and rosé. He was very easy-going not to mention gave us many tips on restaurants, hikes, etc. Highly recommend!

Awesome. We booked a sunset sail with Matt and his beautiful boat on our recent trip to LA. The trip was as advertised. Matt was very communicative before the sail and very welcoming and accommodating during. Everything was as advertised, would do again. Highly recommend.

Great trip with Matthew. He was extremely accommodating and communicated well with us. His boat is great and the 530-730pm time was beautiful! He was great with our young kiddos too and they had an absolute blast:) (5&6year old) We would highly recommend!
