As evening descends, journey from Dubai to the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve, where your private guide will welcome you in an iconic 1950s Land Rover. Drive into the desert, spotting nocturnal wildlife as they emerge to explore under the cover of darkness. Afterward, return to the camp for a delicious dinner and enjoy a stargazing session with our expert guide under a canopy of stars.

Get picked up in a private air-conditioned vehicle from Dubai between 05:00 PM and 06:30 PM, depending on the season. We will inform you of the exact pick-up time on the afternoon of your desert safari.

Arrive at the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve and receive your Headscarf and a Stainless Steel Water Bottle. These are included in each booking and are a gift for our guests to take home.

Enjoy a private 60-minute nature safari in a vintage Land Rover, followed by a torch-lit nocturnal eco-walk, where you'll have the chance to spot creatures like sandfish and scorpions.

The Best Tour in Dubai!

This tour was fabulous! From the timely pick up from the hotel to the return Jaco was an absolute professional. His knowledge and passion for the country is evident from the information and commentary throughout the tour. The drive in the vintage land drovers was brilliant! and the desert walk was so interesting, we saw gazelles, gerbils, geckos - the heritage meal we followed it with was delicious. It culminated with the most interesting astronomy talk from Eddie and we learnt things about our planet we never knew! I whole heartedly recommend the tour and especially Jaco - keep up the good work!

A great tour

We chose this tour because we wanted an experience that connected us with the desert in an environmentally sensitive way (i.e. no dune bashing!) and offered a culturally authentic experience (i.e. no belly dancing). Platinum Heritage definitely delivered and we were very happy with the tour itself as well as Jay our guide and all the other crew involved in front of or behind the scenes. The tour involves driving from Dubai in an air-conditioned pickup, then into the desert in an open top jeep before getting out with torches and ultra violet lights to spot desert creatures. We saw quite a few - gazelles, oryxs and a gerbil in terms of mammals and a baby scorpion (which fluroesced bright green in the UV light), dung beetles and spiders as well. It's a natural environment so there's no guarantee as to what you will see. Even if we saw nothing the night walk would still have been enjoyable in itself. From there we drove to the camp for a falconry display, but with a desert owl instead of a falcon. The falconer, Cornelius, let us put on his leather gauntlet so Yoda the owl could land on our arm and take food. It was such an amazing and memorable experience. We had a tasty dinner after that - lots of food - far more than we could eat. Then it was time for the astronomy talk. Even though nature wasn't very obliging and the sky was rather overcast and the moon was full, Eddy the astronomer did an excellent job of giving an informative and interesting talk nevertheless. We learned lots. All in all it was a great tour and our group of three all really enjoyed it. Do be aware that it finishes just after midnight then there's an hour's drive back to Dubai. So take this into account if you have an early start the next day.

Awesome experience! Beautiful landscape and very kind and attentive staff. The meal was delicious. Very interesting explanations given regarding the local culture: food, dance and astronomy. Great experience, totally recommend it!
