Overview

This is a thorough but leisurely-paced walking tour that covers most of Dublin's major and minor sites. History, culture, architecture, Irish society, Irish language, literature, and many-a-joke to be heard during our jaunt around the fair city. Everything can be tailored to suit you. A coffee break and a lunch break will be included to nicely punctuate your Dublin experience. Five hours fly by quickly! Optional: - Guided tour of Old Library of Trinity College where the Book of Kells is housed. Note that if this option is selection, the National Museum of History and Archaeology must be substituted out. On Mondays, the National Museum of History and Archaeology is closed. - Please note that there is an entrance fee for the Book of Kells (adults and children) – you can purchase the tickets at the door.

We had an incredible time on our tour of Dublin. Our guide Brendan McEvoy was very knowledgeable and spoke to us of many historical buildings and monuments including taking us to see the Book of Kells. He also took us to a very nice Irish Pub where we had a nice lunch. I soul highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to get a fresh experience of Dublin and the history of the city.

Fantastic Tour With Carl!

Our family recently spent two wonderful weeks in Scotland and Ireland. The day before we left for home we were scheduled for a 5 hour private walking tour of Dublin. Our tour guide was Carl Jackson and while we initially thought 5 hours was going to be long, it was over before we knew it. Carl used a blend of humor, wit and great depth of historical knowledge to chronologically tie together and enhance many of the bits and pieces of Irish history we had already encountered during our stay. He spent the first 20 or so minutes giving us a fascinating detailed vision of Ireland’s deep history right up to how Brexit affected Ireland. Ireland’s many cultural and architectural treasures is spectacular but having the rich history to complement all the sights we encountered made it a very memorable experience! We highly recommend touring with Carl Jackson.

Totally bespoke tour of Dublin!

Our guide, John, customized the tour to be exactly what we wanted. Since it was a private tour, he factored in what we had already seen and what our family wanted to see more. When the tour was over, he even secured us a seat in a private room of a great local pub.
