Overview

Visit the top of the volcano that destroyed Pompeii nearly 2000 years ago. With a 7-hour guided tour, stroll through the streets of Pompeii alongside an archaeological guide (or with the accompaniment of an audio guide)*. Drive 3280ft (1000 mt) up Mt.Vesuvius and walk the path to the crater's edge. Enjoy the view of the Bay of Naples and learn the geology of the volcano from an expert volcanologist guide.   • Pompeii Archaeological Park (Pass By)

    Take the chance to visit in only 2 hours the ruins of the Roman city of Pompeii, the vast archaeological area under the UNESCO patronage.

  • Foro de Pompeya (Pass By)

    The Forum was the centre of Pompeii when it was first founded and even after the city's enlargement, when it could hardly be called 'central', it remained the focus of political, economic and religious life.

  • Stabian Baths (Terme Stabiane) (Pass By)

    The Stabian Baths take their name from the fact that they lie at the intersection of the Via Stabiana and the Via dell'Abbondanza. They are the oldest baths in Pompeii and four different building phases can be identified.

  • Tempio di Giove Capitolino (Pass By)

    The Temple of Jupiter, dedicated to the Capitoline triad of Jupiter, Juno and Minerva, dominates the north side of the Forum.

  • Macellum (Pass By)

    The Macellum, or food market, stands in the north-east corner of the Forum. The complex, built in the imperial age as a covered market, had a large number of shops on its periphery on the Via degli Augustali and on the Forum as well as on the inside under a colonnade around its large internal court.

  • Vesuvius National Park (Pass By)

    Painted over the centuries by various artists, Mt. Vesuvius is the natural landmark of the Bay of Naples. This volcano is a "must-see" sightseeing place for each tourist.

Pompeii and Food at a winery

Josephina and Bruno were good and very helpful! It was rewarding to see every thing and learn everything! Unfortunately the Vesuvius part was cancelled due to a landslide but that was not their fault. Instead we went to 2 views of the Naples and the coast and that was beautiful! A little incident with a bus but still great!

Unfortunately Vesuvius was closed because of wind and snow. I’m giving a five star rating however because the tour guide/ archeologist in Pompeii was excellent. He was so knowledgable and the information was at exactly the right level - both informative and entertaining. We also thought the lunch at a lovely restaurant half way up to Vesuvius was great - way more than the advertised ‘light lunch’. A very worthwhile day. Thank you

Great trip, a must if visiting Naples

Fantastic trip! The tour guides were incredibly helpful and accommodating. I almost missed the trip due to my taxi being delayed and then canceling on me, however the tour operator called and assisted me on getting to a later pickup point. I am incredibly grateful for this, as they had no obligation to wait for me and assist me in this way. The trip itself was a fantastic experience, there is nothing in this world like Pompeii. Lunch was at a vineyard with a beautiful view, and a high quality 3 course meal was offered. This was a pleasant surprise, as I had assumed we were just getting a couple slices of pizza. Finally, as someone who loves hiking, climbing Mt. Vesuvius was an incredible experience that I will never forget. I will absolutely be booking with WorldTours again should the opportunity arise in the future.

The tour was great! Giusi D.P. gave a good rundown of the Mt Vesuvius and Mt. Somma, and also Pompei where we were taken on a guided tour. The driver, Genny5, was also skilled and got us to the locations in a timely manner.

This is one of the best tours I have taken. It was a perfect mix of both guided and free-time with just enough at both spots. Pompeii is stunning; a must see. Mount Vesuvius is a great climb with fabulous views. Our host, Sandra, was a delight and Bruno, the bus driver, deftly drove us through some very tight turns. I highly recommend this tour.
