Overview

Mt. Field is one of the Island’s best-loved national parks. Experience iconic Russel Falls and stunning rainforest walks among ancient ferns and towering gumtrees. Visit one of Australia’s best wildlife sanctuaries and enjoy a picnic lunch in the wild or a fabulous dining experience at the Agrarian Kitchen (open Friday-Sunday).

Outstanding trip in part due to our Guide Penny!

Penny Dyer was our guide on both the Peaks, Falls & Furry Locals tour as well as the Wine and the Wild tour. Both tour itineraries were set up well and Penny did an outstanding job guiding and explaining everything. We had the absolute best time and were SO happy that Penny was able to enhance our experience on both days!

Excellent tour with Localing

Noah was excellent. Very easy to spend the day with. He was a great resource for local geography, history, politics and culture. He allowed us to create our own enjoyable itinerary based on what we had already seen and what we plan to do the next few days to avoid duplication.

Walking among the giants!!

Angus Templeton was an excellent guide. I learned so much on this walk thru Mt Field National Park. If he couldn't answer a question he made a call(this he learned a thing or two). It was so amazing walking among the different Eucalyptus trees Seeing the differnt birds. The lunch was pretty darn good...I learned so much about honey. I knew I was no longer in Kansas. The taste was so unique, but i actually could identify the taste. Yeah, I was impressed w/me. I had to share with family only I couldn't take in to my next stop New Zealand. Oh yeah..shipped! Ohhh... it's Leatherwood Honey. Angus did not push, but I surprised myself regarding the trails and stairs. (and probably him too ;) There is so much to look at you don't really noticed how far you traveled. But every step was worth it!

The beauty of Tasmania

We highly recommend the regional day tour of Hobart and Tasmania. Right off the bat our guide, Zen, asked why we came to Tasmania and what we were interested in. He was knowlegeable about history, agriculture, environment, and current challenges that the island faces. Plus he was a very interesting, friendly person who happened to have grown up in Tasmania. The day included a visit to the Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary where we were able to get up close to kangaroos and wombats; the very beautiful Mt Field and Russell Falls; and a winery, with other stops along the way. The picnic lunch that he prepared featured delicious local ingredients. We very much enjoyed spending the day with Zen and came away with an appreciation for the island and people.
