Overview

Take a 5-hour lunch cruise on the River Derwent from Hobart. As you enter the d’Entrecasteaux Channel, dolphins will guide you into the pristine waters of Peppermint Bay. Overlooking the picturesque Bruny Island, a stop at the Peppermint Bay hotel boasts the perfect setting to enjoy your delicious lunch on the waters edge.

  • Peppermint Bay Day Cruises

    A long-time favourite of locals, and ‘trip highlight’ for those that visit from afar, Peppermint Bay is best experienced as part of our Epicurean Cruise which departs from Brooke Street Pier in Hobart. Departing Hobart at 10.30am, the journey inboard Peppermint Bay II (our fully enclosed, comfortable catamaran) takes an hour or so. The Cruise down the picturesque d’Entrecasteaux channel on our 23m catamaran enables you to relax and enjoy some of Tasmania’s most spectacular scenery, pausing to view ancient rock formations and other points of interest long the way. Upon arrival at the restaurant, you’ll be treated to a multi course menu in a spectacular waterfront location. Our chef’s source their ingredients from local makers and producers whenever possible, or from our very own produce garden. Before reboarding our catamaran, there will be time for a drink on the lawns or a wander through our gardens. We’ll depart Peppermint Bay to have you arrive back in Hobart by 3.30pm.

Great day out

We booked in for the Friday cruise and had a great day. The staff were lovely and friendly, service was excellent. The cruise is a lovely way to see some of the bay and townships. We had good weather. Peppermint Bay hotel is a lovely spot to stop. The view is gorgeous. The food was good and plentiful. The drinks on the boat and at the restaurant are additional cost. It was a good value trip for the day and we would recommend it.

We loved every minute of this cruise. Wonderful views towards the mountains and gained a great overview of the city . Very comfortable seating and the staff were outstanding - so friendly and helpful. Lunch was delicious and courses well spaced out. Such a range of flavours. Good to sample Tasmanian wines and beers. Highly recommend this trip.

Glorious weather, calm waters, viewing the Alum Cliffs and the Iron Pot lighthouse all made our trip to Peppermint Bay Hotel and Woodbridge memorable. The hotel itself and the fabulous three course meal were the icing on the cake.
