Overview

Join our Hiking Guide and trek one of the most famous and beautiful hiking trails of the world above the hills of the Amalfi Coast: The Path of the Gods! There are 2 different paths starting from Nocelle or Bomerano, the guide will select the best route based on traffic, weather and season. From Nocelle: Distance : 7.5km Details: Nocelle ‐ Nocelle Difficulty: EE (hard) Path type: mule tracks, paths on stone and dirt paths From Bomerano: Distance : 5.2km Details: Bomerano ‐ Bomerano Difficulty: E (medium) Path type: mule tracks, paths on stone and dirt paths (we start from Bomerano and back to Bomerano, this option is longer by car but less walking) Botany: mediterranean scrub, heather, euphorbia, true myrtle, orchids Fauna: birds of prey (kestrel, peregrine falcon, buzzard, raven, sea gull,..) migratory and sedentary birds and insects, butterflies , reptiles (lizards, harmless snakes). Natural landscape interests: view on the whole peninsola, view on Capri and Amalfi coast

The meeting point will be at the Office Gray Line - IAMME IA located in Piazza Torquato Tasso nr. 16 next to the cafè Fauno Bar just behind the statue of Torquato Tasso.

Itinerary

    Pick-up from meeting point in Piazza Torquato Tasso, Sorrento and transfer to the Amalfi Coast up to Nocelle.

    The Path of the Gods connects the tiny hilltop village of Agerola with Nocelle, a hamlet of Positano lying on the slopes of Mount Pertuso. The routes winds lightly downhill from Agerola to Nocelle offering a magnificent view of the Amalfi Coast and the island of Capri. This route is considered one of the most beautiful hiking trails in the world, and extends along several Amalfi towns. Along the path, it is still possible to admire the remains of ancient farmhouses and meet local shepherds who transport wood or milk with their mules to the villages below. Walk with your guide along this pristine stretch of coast, admire the beauties of nature and enjoy some free time to have a quick meal or take wonderful photos of your experience! Return to Sorrento in the early afternoon.

    Along the path it’s still possible to admire remains of ancient farmhouses and meet local shepherds carrying with their mule wood or milk to the underlying towns.

The views were incredible. Our guide was friendly, funny and knowledgeable. Going to the shepherds hut towards the end with the sing song, “grape juice” and food isn’t something I’ll forget.

This hike is worth every penny and more! The most gorgeous place we have ever been. Our guide was very kind, knowledgeable, and was very good at reading the group and knowing when to stop for breaks. He really brought the Path of the Gods to life. Bring good walking shoes and a rain jacket. The lunch at the goat farmer’s home is such a fun and unique experience with delicious homemade food. They are correct that this hike is medium difficulty - lots of uphill and some slick rocks, but a very well-defined path. Our group was all ages and did just fine. Hiking poles are provided for assistance.
