Itinerary

  • Miraflores Visitor Center

    After pick up from hotel or accommodation in Panama City, we would take you to an observation area where we will explain you about the history and how the Panama Canal works.

  • Gatun Lake

    After seeing a ship go through the locks, we will continue by car to the Chagres River where we will then get off the car and begin a boat tour in the Gatun Lake. At this point you will be inside the Panama Canal passing beside the ships in transit from one ocean to the other. During this boat tour in Gatun Lake you will be surrounded by the rainforest of the Soberania National Park, where we will spot monkeys and other wild animals.

Panama Canal and the pleasant unexpected surprise of feeding the monkeys

Book with Ricardo, he is knowledgeable about the Panama Canal and the history of Gatun Lake. On this trip you will actually be alongside the boats you have seen in the Mira Flora locks and the bonus will be going to the different islands to feeds the monkeys!

I am so glad I took this tour! The Panama Canal and Monkey Island were both things I definitely wanted to experience in Panama, so I really appreciated this tour for a smooth and enjoyable tour of the two. The tour guide was friendly and comfortable with distance, and he had ponchos and cold bottles for us. After booking, we received an email with details of where to meet. We were able to see each spot at our leisure and had a lot of explanations in the car. At the Panama Canal, we saw a big ship pass by and learned about the history through an IMAX movie. At Monkey Island, we were happy to give fruit to the cappuccino monkeys! We were also able to take a boat ride right next to the big ship we saw at the Panama Canal. We also saw two kinds of monkeys, iguanas, and alligators. It was a rainy day when we joined the tour, but the tour guide told us that we would see more on a sunny day. We thought we could go to the Panama Canal by ourselves, but we were able to listen to various explanations and arrived just in time for the big ships to pass by without having to worry about anything. I am very glad that I chose this tour. Thank you very much for a great time!
