Visit key sites of WWII interest including Omaha Beach and the Pointe-Du-Hoc with a guide, and learn of the conditions faced by the US soldiers brought into battle. Itinerary

  • Pointe du Hoc

    Your guide will give you detailed information regarding the American Rangers mission and explain the fascinating remnants of the many German bunkers we will see together. You will then be given around 25 minutes free time to explore on your own.

  • Omaha Beach

    You will be given a great overview of the beach landings that took place on Omaha Beach on June 6th, 1944. After which, you will have around 15 minutes free time to walk on the sand (depending on tidal conditions) where American forces landed on D-Day.

  • Cimetiere Americain de Colleville-sur-Mer

    The guide will lead you into the incredible American Cemetery and explain many key facts about when it was built, why it is located where it is and many of stories of the men and women who are buried here. You will be given around 30 minutes free time to explore on your own.

I told him what I wanted most was to spend unguided time at the American Cemetery and to be there while they were lowering the flag. He modified the itinerary to make that happen. Robin was knowledgeable and respectful of what these sites mean to American visitors. The one thing to be aware of is limited time at sites with a half day tour. I have visited Normandy before so I was aware of that. If you are on your first visit, I would suggest a full day tour
