Overview

The view from the sea gives you the chance to see the world-famous fireworks over the city and the surrounding towns. If the skies are clear you might be able to catch the Northern lights too. Receive a complimentary glass of Champagne as midnight approaches and, as the clock hits 12, raise a toast to the New Year. Three panoramic decks will ensure that you will get the best view of the fireworks and coastline possible, and if the skies are clear, hopefully, catch the Northern lights too.

We are located at the Reykjavík Old Harbour close to the city's center. It is the main port of departure for whale watching and northern lights tours. *Please arrive at the meeting point 30 MINUTES BEFORE DEPARTURE.

Itinerary

  • Old Harbour (Pass By)

    The ship sets sails from Reykjavík’s Old Harbour and during your journey, you’ll sail among the small islands in the Faxaflói Bay, as well as along the coast of Reykjavík, providing you with a fantastic view of the city as you search for the wildlife in the water. The most common sights are minke and humpback whales, dolphins, and porpoises. However, there is always a chance to spot a few orcas (also known as killer whales) as well as a wealth of other species. The professional team onboard is very experienced in spotting whales and is dedicated to making sure their passengers leave with a smile!

  • Harpa Reykjavik Concert Hall and Conference Centre (Pass By)

    Harpa is a concert hall and conference center in Reykjavík, Iceland. The opening concert was held on May 4, 2011. The building features a distinctive colored glass facade inspired by the basalt landscape of Iceland.

    Faxafloi bay is situated on its southern shore. From Reykjavik, it is possible to see the peninsula of Akranes in the northeast and even the Snæfellsjökull at a distance of about 120 km (75 mi). This bay has few islands and the ones it does have are close to land, in particular contrast to the bay directly north of it, Breiðafjörður, which has the most islands of any bay in Iceland.

Got lucky as we saw the Northern Lights on the same trip. The boat just sits in the harbour but what a show at midnight! Advice, wrap up warm & then wrap up warmer. Real feel was around -18degrees.

Highly recommend this for NYE!! It was beyyyond cold AF and we weren't sure what to do. Didn't want to hang outside, but really wanted to see/experience the NYE fireworks...so how do you do that? Answer: hop on a boat where you can be both indoors and out and see everything from the water! We were able to comfortably view everything from both inside the boat or outside, had a bar and bathrooms, and we even got to see the Northern Lights!! It was a very special NYE.

What a wonderful way to spend NYE! Boat was nice, staff were excellent and the boat was not ‘overbooked’. Plenty of room to move around and of course the 360 view of fireworks was awesome.

Fantastic experience. Not crowded and well organised. Iceland don’t just do fireworks at midnight it was an all night display.
