Overview

Enjoy a personalized small group experience on this swamp tour just 35 minutes outside of New Orleans. This airboat has a maximum of six or nine passengers giving you plenty of room to admire the views of the Louisiana marshlands from all angles.

Meeting points

Departure Point: Barataria Blvd, Marrero, LA Address: 9706 Barataria Blvd Marrero, LA 70072 Please plan to arrive at least 20 minutes prior to tour time. The boat will depart on time and we cannot delay start time.

Itinerary

Barataria Preserve

Travel along the Mississippi River and arrive at the departure location in Marrero, a 35 minute drive outside of New Orleans. You will be introduced to your captain and briefed quickly on procedure inside of the Airboat. Once everyone in the group is prepared to take off you captain will rev the engine. This particular airport is powered by a 454 Chevy Engine that's capable of accelerating to speeds as high as 35 miles per hour. The boat is propelled by a large fan behind the boat which can deliver wind speeds of over 200 miles per hour. This tour is fast and loud! Your tour guide will take you around the swamp and make frequent stops for you to have encounters with the wildlife. Chances are you'll probably have some reptilian visitors. The alligators have no problems making their way to the side of the boat and showing off for the visitors. After the tour of the swamp is complete you will be returned to the original departure location to make your way back to New Orleans.

Excellent experience with a very knowledgeable guide. Cold as it was during a cold snap, but still saw an alligator, bald eagle and owl. Worth every penny.

Fantastic experience. The guide was great and we got to hold a baby alligator at the end. Very informative and just a lot of fun in general. Great staff.

This might top everything else you do on your family vacation. It's certainly memorable. The water, a fast boat, cool winds, and light spray is exciting for everyone. The alligators are so close! But our guide, Trey, pointed out, these gators are used to the boats and really tolerate our presence well. Trey is very knowledgeable about the area having grown up in the bayou. We will book this tour again.

Our family loved this tour. We enjoyed the ride in the air boat and we were lucky to see a number of wild life including alligators. Our tour guide Dewey was really knowledgeable about the swamp , the animals and habitat. We recommend this tour company to anyone interested in going on a swamp tour.
