WOW. The experience was so much more than I expected. Rene (Chef/Presenter) provided more than you mix X with Y etc. He gave in depth explanation of why combining ingredients in a certain manner yields the results. Best was how to prevent okra from being slimy. Rene explained the origins & difference between Creole and Cajun.
After preparing the gumbo & jambalaya, we got to taste test. So delicious. While we were chowing down, Rene started making the pralines & telling their history.
Good food, good information and stories and good company. What more could you ask for?
