  • Nadi Produce Markets

    Tour a vibrant farmers market to see some of local farm and Spice produce. Learn the various root crops & vegetables traditional farming and local cooking techniques that have been passed down from generations. Learn and taste the native traditional drink called Kava and its significance in the Fijian culture. Wear around your neck the traditional local 'Tabua' a sperm whales' tooth and learn the significance in the Fijian culture as well. Here is where we begin our local fruits tasting experience. Try your taste buds as well on some delicious homemade desserts called 'Vakalolo,' This a must do part of the tour.

  • Handicraft Market

    Exploring the local handicraft market provides a deeper understanding of Fijian cultural craftsmanship from diverse village communities. Discover authentic wood carvings, mat weavings, artwork paintings, locally designed clothing, and handmade coconut jewelry. Your guide will introduce you to the traditional cloth-making process called 'Masi,' crafted from the bark of the paper mulberry tree (Broussonetia papyrifera), also known as Tapa cloth in Fiji. Exclusively made by women, Masi holds cultural significance. Inturn your guide will explain how our national airline got its traditional logo design as well and what it represents and mean to us Fijians. You will connect with local artisans, hear their stories, and learn about the preparation and sale of each item. Uncover essential artifacts reflecting Fijian culture in this enriching experience.

    Visit the largest Hindu Indian temple in the southern hemisphere, showcasing a rare architectural style seldom seen outside India. Inside, discover sacred statues crafted by artisans imported from India. The tour also sheds light on the initial indentured labor system that brought the first Indian workers to Fiji for cotton and sugarcane farms. Delight in Indian sweet delicacies paired with masala tea and engage in conversations with local priests about each sub-temple's functions.     We’ll conclude our tour at the 'Jacks Fiji' handicraft store and The Corner Cafe. It’s also a great opportunity to chat with your guide, gather insider tips, and learn about more exciting adventures for your holiday. Highly recommended walking tour

John is an excellent guide. This walking tour was informative, interesting and fun. John shared his wealth of knowledge on Fijian history and current culture. When walking through the markets with John he highlighted local products discussing their uses and how they were made in an entertaining way.

The Real Nadi

Our family (3 adults) joined the Nadi Cultural walking tour. Our tourist guide, John was very knowledgable & informative. He took us to the Sri Siva Subramaniya Temple first. We learnt about Hindu’s influence to Fijian’s religion. The colourful Hinduism’s story painted on the roof of the temple. Then we moved to the local handcraft market, John told us the history of Fiji’s timber made communication instrument & how powerful it can be if used effectively with the wind direction. He also told us what were the true local products selling in the markets. After that we walked to the fruit & vegetables market, it was so eye opening. John explained to us various local fruit produces & we tasted some of them. He also showed us a whale tooth ornament and why it became a signifiant heirloom for Fijian family & even for the environment. This walking tour is absolutely fantastic for & we gained a great understanding of the Fijian culture. It will be a memorable experience during our Fiji visit.

John was s great guide. I was lucky and had a solo guided tour. We went to the market, a Hindu temple and other local sites. It was a good way to learn something about Fiji from someone who is passionate.
