Overview

I'm Anna Maria Priora, an Italian licensed tour guide with a PhD in WWII history in Italy at the Humboldt University of Berlin. I will be happy to share with you the most important events of the 4 Battles of Cassino, but also the personal Veterans' stories! My tours run every day in the morning but if you need an afternoon tour please write me a message, i will arrange it. I will pick you up with my Italian Minivan at the train station of Cassino and we will cross Cassino new Town. We Will reach Trocchio Hill, to have a wonderful general view on the battlefield, then we will the stop next to the famous Rapido River, we will pay out respect to the local memorials and we will reach the Commonwealth War Cemetery of Cassino. At the end of the tour we will visit the Abbey of Monte Cassino on a WW2 point of view. (I'm offering Kiwi, Canadian, American Battlefield tours, please search "Anna Maria Priora" on Google to have a more complete view of all my tours)

Meeting points

In front of Cassino Train Station, where the Green Kiosk of the information point is. You can join Cassino from Rome Termini by train, or from Naples by train and flixbus. If you need an afternoon tour please write me a message. I usually wear a red poppy and i have an italian flag with me.

Excellent tour of the Polish Battlefields

Anna was an amazing and very knowledgable on everything Cassino. The tailored tour catered for both someone with a keen interest in and someone with minimal knowledge the war, and Anna took the time to answer all of our questions as well as asking some of here owm, making the whole experience feel very personal. If you are looking for a tour of Cassino, then look no further than Anna!

Anna Priora is a brilliant tour guide. She provided a tremendous amount of background to the actual battle and highlighted various sites which allowed a visual perspective of the battlegrounds which added to the overall experience.. The tour material, as presented by Anna, was never boring and her continuing commentary was very informative. Finally, Anna's pleasant demeanor and sense of humor greatly enhanced the overall experience. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in the Battle of Montecasino.

This was an excellent tour. Anna is so passionate about Cassino and shared her wealth of family and personal knowledge. I liked the size of this tour. It allowed for plenty of questions.

Ana was an excellent Tour guide! She picked us up right on time and delivered us back to the train station on time. Travel by train from Rome was easy and tool 1:45 - 2 hours. One thing to note is that Cassino is unlike other European battlefield sites that I have been to in that there are not museums and battlefield relics (e.g., bunkers, artillery, tanks, etc) around the town of Cassino. So, this is more of tour that shows the overall view of where the battle took place. The view from the monestary is beautiful....
