    Situated five minutes from central Rotorua, Te Puia is an iconic destination for visitors featuring the world-famous Pōhutu geyser, boiling mud pools, Māori cultural performances, live Kiwi birds, native bush and the national school of wood carving and weaving. Feel the warm welcome of Māori guides from the moment you walk into Te Puia past the twelve monumental carvings, Te Heketanga a Rangi reaching skywards. Explore Te Puia’s unique Whakarewarewa geothermal valley, home to the world-famous Pōhutu Geyser, which erupts up to twenty times a day, and up to thirty metres high into the air. Explore the boiling mud pools and the boiling waters which are still used to cook in. The tradition of guiding in the Whakarewarewa geothermal valley extends for generations. Discover the distinctive flavours and unique preparation of our traditionally cooked Māori hangi. This experience includes a traditional Māori Hangi buffet lunch infused with indigenous flavours and a Māori concert.

  • Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland

    Named “One of the 20 Most Surreal Places in the World" by TripAdvisor, Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland is New Zealand’s most colourful and diverse geothermal area. Thousands of years in the making, this stunning landscape is nestled within a natural bush setting through which self-guided walks take between 30 and 75 minutes. The range of geothermal activity is extensive and includes huge volcanic craters formed by collapsing ground, steaming vents, sinter terrace formations, coloured hot and cold water springs among which is the world famous Champagne Pool.

    After an exhilarating fun-filled adventure experience at Rotorua, it is now time to head back to Auckland to conclude your evening and drop-off at your hotel in Auckland. We can also drop you at your accommodation in Rotorua if you are staying locally in the region.

Wonderful! Our guide, Mary, was so helpful, and cheerfully shared her deep knowledge of the area and the People. The Maori Cultural Experience was awe inspiring, the Hell's Gate Mud Baths and geothermal pools were a unique experience. Saw the Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Pools: hard to believe they are actually on this planet.Would definitely recommend: 5/5.
