Your host is a local Food and Wine Specialist with an intimate knowledge of Edinburgh’s culinary scene. With their expert insights and passion for food and drink, you'll learn the art of food and wine pairing and about the unique characteristics that make each selection special. The educational aspect elevates the tour beyond a simple tasting experience, offering you the chance to deepen knowledge. Meeting points

Please arrive in the foyer of The Edinburgh Grand, 42 St Andrews Square at 1:45pm. The experience starts at 2pm in our first restaurant with a glass of fizz. If you are late, please contact Joanne who will direct you to our table.

Itinerary

Reservations are waiting at 3 beautiful Edinburgh venues. We taste sparkling wine, French white wine, Italian rose and red wines and finish with 2 contrasting single malt Scotch whiskies. Each beverage is paired with a delicious Scottish artisan food. Your guide is wine and spirit specialist with 20 years experience. You will be taught to swirl, sip and savour each sample and learn wine and whisky tasting techniques you can use at home. Venue 1 - 1 hour A stunning venue renown for its excellent, fresh produce. Venue 2 - 1 hour We take a short walk through Princes Street Gardens and arrive at a beautiful restaurant which prides itself on its locally grown produce and creative culinary flare. Venue 3 - 40 minutes Our third stop is a beautiful location with views looking out to Edinburgh's Old Town and Castle. Here we have two contrasting single malt Scotch whiskies. You will learn to how to taste whisky and discover more about your preferred whisky style. The whisky is paired with a Scottish cheese selection and is the perfect way to finish your Scottish food, wine and whisky experience!

A seasonal dish, for example West Coast Scallop with sparking wine followed by a sample of white wine paired with a local dish, eg Scottish Salmon.

Delicious Scottish savoury produce

Fresh, seasonal Scottish artisan produce, for example ham terrine paired with Italian Rose.

MAIN

Seasonal savoury dish paired with Montepulciano d'Abruzzo red wine from Italy

For example, Aberdeenshire butterie with Lanark blue cheese, pickled pear, spinach and walnuts.

DESSERT

Whisky tasting with Scottish cheese selection.

A guided tasting of two contrasting single malt Scotch whiskies selected to suit your taste. Enjoy with a Scottish cheese board and oatcakes.
