Overview

This popular kayak tour will allow you to kayak the La Jolla sea caves and ecological reserve, which boasts an amazing array of scenery and wildlife you can't find anywhere else in San Diego. As you paddle alongside your expert naturalist/biologist guide, keep an eye out for sea lions, dolphins and even a Grey Whale! Minimum age is 6 years old and they will have to ride in the tandem with an adult over the age of 18. THIS TOUR WILL BE FOR 2 TRAVELERS IN THE SAME TANDEM KAYAK. SO 1 TRAVELER EQUALS 1 TANDEM KAYAK OR 2 GUESTS. DO NOT BOOK THIS OPTION IF YOU ARE ONLY 1 GUEST. BOOK THE SINGLE KAYAK OPTION IF YOU ARE ONE GUEST

  • Expect to get wet, please wear appropriate clothes such as a bathing suit and shoes that can get wet (tennis shoes, 'river shoes' or flip flops)
  • Hats, sun screen and towels are strongly advised
  • Please do not bring valuables and things that cannot get wet
  • There is a weight limit of 250 pounds per single kayak and 450 pounds per double kayak
  • For safety reasons, the tour operator does not guarantee going into the caves on tours. Entrance to caves is based on ocean conditions, safety, and participants ability as determined by guide.
  • Minimum age is 6 years for a double kayak and 16 years for a single kayak
  • All participants must be able to swim

Great tour - great guides.

Our guides were fantastic. Did a good job of accommodating everyone's abilities and pointing out ocean life and providing some history of the area along the coast. We lucked out on weather and had perfect temps and water conditions. Got there early, parked a couple blocks of the Main Street (no parking time limit in the residential area a couple blocks away) and had a great breakfast at Shorehouse Kitchen up the street. Highly recommended!

Ellie and Luca were superb, knowledgeable, and expert guides for this fantastic kayaking trip of a lifetime! Amazing to see so many peaceful, large Leopard Sharks, a Sea Turtle, Seals, and Sea Lions, as well as Pelicans. For novice ocean kyakers as we were, it is a good idea to bring a set of dry clothes :)

Our family had the best time!! Our tour guides Luca and Jonas were excellent at keeping the group together, spotting wildlife, fun facts/history about the area, and even a few jokes. We were so lucky to see dolphins multiple times during our tour! Definitely one of the highlights of our vacation!

Our tour guide Jonas was absolutely amazing! He was very knowledgeable, funny, helpful, and made us all feel safe while directing us through the caves and over the water to look at all of the amazing geography and wildlife the area had to offer. The views of the leopard sharks, pelicans, cormorants, sea lions, and even a pair of dolphins made memories that will last a lifetime.

We had a wonderful day out on the water with our guide, Chandler. The entire staff was so attentive and helpful. We saw sea lions and dolphins out on the water, it was a great experience. Definitely would recommend this company!
