Overview

A drive through the archipelago between Srima and the island of Prvić towards the St Anthony's Channel. Keep sailing through the protected landscape of the St Anthony's Channel and the historic Šibenik Bay. Sightseeing of attractions in the Channel and the bay with a unique panoramic view of the City of Šibenik and two UNESCO monuments, the Cathedral of St James and the St Nicholas' Fortress, the sea guard of the city. Collection and tasting of mussels from a local farm. Continuation of sailing along the river Krka's estuary, across Prokljansko lake and farther through the canyon to Skradinski Buk, the largest and richest waterfall of the Krka river. Landing in the National Park with free time for sightseeing, visiting attractions and rest.

  • St Nicholas' Fortress (Pass By)

    Under UNESCO protection, this fortress is one of the essential Venetian fortifications outside Venice, built for defence against the Ottomans. Famous as one of the most beautiful forts on the Adriatic. It was built on the islet of Ljuljevac, to which people eventually paved the way, and access to the fortress is now possible by land. At the time of its construction, in 1540, it cost as much as half of Dalmatia, 40,000 ducats. The builders of the fortress are the distinguished Venetian Sanmicheli family.

  • Sibenik (Pass By)

    Šibenik, as one of the historical Croatian cities, was first mentioned in the middle of the 11th century in a document of King Petar Krešimir IV. The view is dominated by its four fortifications: St Nicholas, St Michael, St John and Barone. Of the sacred monuments, of which the city has 24 churches and six monasteries, from a distance, the Cathedral of St James, a unique monument of European sacral culture attracts the eye's attention. The cathedral was constructed entirely of stone, without any other materials and is the work of Juraj Dalmatinac and Nikola Firentinac, placed under the care of UNESCO World Heritage.

    Gavan's Court is the name of a place on Lake Prokljan, where, in addition to the historical remains of the walls, according to locals, fragments of marble, decorated stones, Roman bricks, lead pipes and jewellery were found. According to the legend, a haughty rich woman, a "gavanuša", rudely chased off an angel disguised as a beggar for three times, and when the angel flooded her court, the Lake Prokljan was created. * (gavan = rich, arrogant, haughty man)

  • Skradinski Buk Waterfall

    After Šibenik we go further down the estuary of Krka to Prokljan lake and down the canyon to the foot of Skradinski Buk and arrive in Krka National Park at around 11.30am. There you will have a break for bathing and tour of the national park – visiting watermills, Skradinski Buk, hydroelectric power plant Jaruga, restaurants, souvenir shop and relaxing. With its seven travertine waterfalls it is a natural phenomenon. National Park Krka encompasses the part of the most beautiful river flow of Krka and the lower flow of Čikola river. National park abounds in natural as well as cultural and historical monuments. Among these it is worthy to mention a Franciscan monastery on Visovac island, set on the river. In the old watermills remodeled into small ethnographic museums you will have an insight into how wheat was milled. The main attraction of Krka national park are its 7 waterfalls, among which Roški slap is the most widely spread, while Skradinski buk the biggest and most widely known.

Wonderful boat, wonderful crew

Instructions for meeting the boat were clear and concise. We were greeted by friendly, helpful, and good humoured crew. Departure was bang on time. The boat was very well kept and maintained. Prices at the bar on board were more than reasonable and we were fed the freshest mussels you could ask for - delivered direct to the boat from the mussel farm as we were en-route. All in a very professional and well organised outfit. In terms of the trip itself, Krka waterfalls is amongst the most beautiful parts of this planet I have ever seen. €70 is an absolute steal for this trip.

Fantastic national park! Must do if you enjoy nature and are in split.

I did not want to go on a tour with 50 + other people. Took bus from split skradin and the boat tour starts 200 meters from there (40 euros entry + 22 euros on bus return ticket). Best decision I have made. I went just after lunch and missed most of the crowd, had plenty of space and time to enjoy with no rush leas people and on my own pace. Skradin in a small town you can also have a drink food there while waiting for your bus to return. There is a bus each way almost every hour.

Perfect trip! Pleasant boat ride, the premium option is definitely worth it (we just bought one for our group) Mussels were lovely, so was the host. Slight delay when we arrived at Krka getting the tickets but I think that was due to a power cut in the whole country! Wonderful place to visit, wish you could swim in it! Really lovely day!
