We are life time paddlers, sharing our passion, incorporating fun, learning and awareness of river and its surrounds . Our customers get personal attention and feel very safe and love our tours which are adapted to peoples energy and ability. You will paddle double kayaks up and back down through Kilkenny and see historical buildings which dominate the the City skyline. The tour can include white water paddling over a weir, playing in the rapids if that is of interest. If you prefer to stay dry, that's your choice of course and we do provide over-trousers to keep you pretty dry. If you prefer, one of our guides can paddle the double kayak with you for extra stability to ensure that we maximise your enjoyment and safety. Visual highlights include Kilkenny Castle, The Tholsel, St Francis Abbey, the old home of Smithwick's Brewery and St Canice's Cathedral. Hear about the importance of the Nore to Kilkenny and its milling history for centuries.

Best activity for couple!

An unforgettable kayaking experience in Kilkenny! Easily the best price in Ireland—we did plenty of research and couldn’t be happier with our choice. Paddling with the stunning view of the castle was truly special. We’ll definitely be back!

Great way to see Kilkenny!

It is an amazing experience to kayak through the center of medieval Kilkenny and see the beautiful castle and town from the water. This outfitter is skilled and experienced, and has good equipment. The owners are a family of avid kayakers, they can handle all ages and experience levels. We paddled upstream against a very gentle current, then floated back through town under an ancient bridge and stone walls. I highly recommend this activity, and this fine company. Thanks again for the amazing experience Roger!

We had the best time paddle boarding with Roger in Kilkenny. He was incredibly kind, helpful and a pleasure to spend time with. We learned a lot about the sport, had a great time and loved learning about Ireland. We also were not experts and Roger was super helpful and patient with us.

I thoroughly enjoyed my sea kayak training and trips on the coast with Roger, he's an excellent instructor and wealth of knowledge. The Copper Coast is a stunning part of Ireland and well worth a visit with Riverbend Adventures.
