Take the day off from driving, kick back and marvel at the beauty of the Garden Isle from its pacific blue waters to waterfalls and ancient ruins while your guide brings all the sights to life with fascinating stories, legends and fun facts from the past to modern times. IMPORTANT-PLEASE READ! *If you are staying at the Sheraton Coconut Beach, Islander on the Beach, Kauai Coast Resort, Kauai Shores, and Kapaa Sands you are withing a short walking distance to our meeting location. *If you are coming from Princeville, its about a 35-40 mts drive *If you are coming from Poipu/Koloa, ... its about a 40-45 mts drive *If you are a cruise ship passenger you will have to take a cab. The harbor it's about 20 mts drive from our meeting point. Read more â–Ľ

Itinerary

  • Coconut Marketplace

    Our day together will start at the Coconut Market Place. This is where the tour starts. Prior to the start of our adventure, you can enjoy breakfast and coffee at the Island Country Market. Bathrooms and free parking available at this mall.

  • Wailua River State Park

    Our first stop on tour will be in Wailua town. Great and Sacred Wailua was the main religious and political center of the island during ancient times. The Ali'i or royalty resided in this town, and most heiaus (temples of worship) were built here. In this area we will visit Poliahu Heiau, Opaekaa Falls, and Wailua River lookout (largest navigable river in the state) from two different lookouts. As you enjoy the beautiful scenery that surrounds you in every stop, your guide will share the fascinating stories of ancient times, and how the islands have changed in modern times.

  • Lydgate Beach Park

    Time to take a stroll down the path at beautiful Lydgate Beach Park. Soak your feet in the famous Morgan Ponds, learn about the ancient temple of worship where Hawaiians greeted the rising sun daily, the city of refuge, and more. This is a leisure walk for all age groups. you will have many picture opportunities.

  • Wailua Falls

    You can't never have enough waterfalls on your vacation. From Wailua town we will head to Lihue town to visit the beautiful and famous Wailua Falls from the famous TV show "Fantasy island" You will have ample time to marvel at this beauty, take pictures, and check out some of the local vendors.

  • Old Koloa Town

    Lunch will take place in the historic town of Koloa where you will have many food options, from restaurants to food trucks. You will be free to choose what you want. We will spend about 1.5 hours here so you have plenty of time to eat, stroll through this charming plantation town, and do some shopping for locally made souvenirs (optional).

  • Menehune Fish Pond

    We will visit the lookout for of Kauia's oldest archeological sites located in a breathtaking wild life reserve in Lihue town. As you enjoy the beautiful scenery we will share with you the restoration project that is taking place, the legend of the little people of Hawai'i known as "The Menehunes" who built the pond, and the many Hollywood movies filmed in this area.

  • Spouting Horn

    On our way to the Spouting Horn we will drive through the famous Tree Tunnel. Get ready to marvel at the power of nature at this ancient lava tube that became a water blow hole due to erosion caused by ocean waves. We will share the Hawaiian legend tied to this place, sound effects and all.

  • Wear comfortable clothes. Sandals and flip flops are great for this tour. I recommend wearing a cap/hat, and sunglasses.

The trip was amazing but especially want to give a shout out to our awesome guide Coco Maria who was very attentive, communicative and accommodating from the time of booking until the end. I was a solo traveler but immediately I felt like I was traveling with a group of friends. Great way to experience the wonders of South & East Kawaii. 10 stars!
