My husband and I booked the "Kata Tjuta Sunrise and Valley of the Winds Half-Day Trip" through Viator. At 4:40 am, the tour bus picked us up from our hotel - Sails in the Desert. We headed to a viewing platform where we caught the most magnificent sunrise as it lights up the mountain sides of Kata Tjuta. The tour had coffee, morning biscuits, fresh fruits and fruit cups. I was so nice to eat under that beautiful sky. After breakfast, we headed on our amazing 3 hrs / 5.4 km hike at Kata Tjuta National Park. This hike to the Karingana lookout is a Grade 4 - Difficult level hike. It was a challenging mainly at the end of the hike; I was so proud of myself for completing it since I'm 55 and not exactly super fit. Our tour guide (from Italy ... sorry, I don't remember her name) was fantastic. She made sure that everyone got through the tough parts of the trail and gave us a number of breaks to rest and enjoy the landscape. TIPS: - Be respectful of others on the viewing platform ... give everyone a chance to take pictures. - Be respectful at Kata Tjuta ... let's all enjoy the peace and quiet, and beauty of the land.

Glen was an outstanding tour guide. His knowledge and friendliness made a big difference. We loved the experience. Cole the driver was also brilliant. The views we saw on the hike were incredible. Please do respect the signs though when it says not to take photographs, it’s really important.

What a place. The Valley of the Winds was thrilling. Our guides were three young women - Italian, English and Australian - who did their best to meld our small group of five. But it was the walk that was so special. There is no photography permitted in the Valley of the Winds because this is a sacred men's site. Somehow this makes it even more special. You are forced to be present not TAKE pictures and instead take it in. If you have the time and have a reasonable degree fitness (because there is some rock scrambling and hiking a bit uphill) do this tour.

The valley of the winds hike was my favourite in the park. It isn't hard if you are moderately fit and go in the morning before it gets hot. You do need proper hiking shoes/boots thigh as the trail is very rocky. Dan the tour guide was a great communicator. He gave us insight into the geological and cultural history of Kata-Tjuta. We were well looked after and the views were stunning. Well worth it.

The tour guide, Jim, was fantastic, and AAT King had excellent area knowledge. This time, I did the Walpa Gorge part with my mum (80). But if you are fit, you must do the Valley of Winds, as it's the best hike I have ever done.
