Overview

Some days Kandy’s skies seem perpetually bruised, with stubborn mist clinging to the hills surrounding the city’s beautiful centerpiece lake. Delicate hill-country breezes impel the mist to gently part, revealing colorful houses amid Kandy’s improbable forested halo. In the centre of town, three-wheelers careen around slippery corners, raising a soft spray that threatens the silk saris worn by local women. Here’s a city that looks good even when it’s raining. And when the drizzle subsides, cobalt-blue skies reveal a city of imposing colonial-era and Kandyan architecture, none more impressive than the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, one of Buddhism's most sacred shrines. History and culture are on tap. Yes, the city is renowned for the great Kandy Esala Perahera festival (held annually in July/August), but its vibrant cultural life and attractions more than justify a visit at any time of year.

Truly the best experience we had in Sri Lanka

We were fortunate enough to spend two days with these amazing guides; it was truly the best experience in Sri Lanka! The service and quality were absolutely outstanding — they took such great care of us that we felt genuinely sad when the trip came to an end. On our first day, we explored Ella by tuk tuk, visiting a beautiful temple, a tea factory, and a botanical center. They took us to a lovely café for lunch and later to a great spot for dinner. We also visited the incredible Ambuluwawa Biodiversity Complex, which was a highlight! The second day was equally amazing — we went on a full-day tour to Sigiriya and a safari, this time by car. Along the way, we stopped at several famous temples and enjoyed breaks for fresh fruits and a delicious lunch. Both days were thoughtfully planned — the itinerary was perfectly balanced: not overwhelming, but filled with exciting and enriching experiences. The tour guides were extremely polite, knowledgeable, and helpful. They made every moment fun, informative, and unforgettable. I honestly cannot recommend these guys enough! If you want to explore Kandy and its surroundings with the best tour guides at an amazing price, look no further. They are truly wonderful people — so kind, so professional, and they really know how to make your holiday memorable and exciting. A 100/10 experience — thank you so, so, so much!!!

Had a fantastic experience with this company. First a Kandy city day tour and then a driver through the cultural triangle, elephant safari and drop off in Trincomalee. Very reasonable prices, great English speaking and very informative and personable guides. Highly recommend.

Unforgettable Day in Kandy – Thank You, Laxman! What an amazing day we had exploring Kandy, all thanks to Laxman! He picked us up right on time from the train station, and after we checked into our hotel, he took us on a full private tour of the city and its surroundings. From the sacred Temple of the Tooth to an authentic agricultural farm, a tea factory, and the breathtaking Ambuluwawa Tower, we saw it all. Laxman also took us to two fantastic restaurants—one with a stunning river view and another serving delicious Chinese cuisine, perfect for when we were craving something more familiar. Throughout the day, Laxman was incredibly knowledgeable, explaining the history, culture, and religion of Kandy with so much passion. He made the entire experience personal and memorable. On top of that, his pricing was very fair—no hidden fees or inflated costs like some other tour companies. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide. Thank you again, Laxman, for an unforgettable experience. We highly recommend him to anyone visiting Kandy!
