    Ischia Ponte is a town with a fascinating history. It is known especially for the Aragon’s Castle, in the past used as defence against the pirates or vacation castle for the royal in periods of peace. Today it is a main landmark of Ischia, where tourists love to pass by and take pictures with the sea in the background.

  • Castello Aragonese (Pass By)

    The Aragonese Castle is a medieval castle in Ischia Ponte. It stands on a volcanic isle and is connected to Ischia by a bridge. In the past it was used for defence, but today it is a marvellous place where you can stroll on the bridge, enjoying the sunshine and the breeze from the sea.

    Barano is a lovely town of Ischia and it is located on the higher part of the island, going towards mount Epomeo. The area is covered in vineyards, and is considered a very fertile territory of the island.

  • Monte Epomeo (Pass By)

    Mount Epomeo is the highest mountain of Ischia. It is primarily made of volcanic stone, for this reason considered very fertile. In fact the mountain is covered in greenery and vineyards. From here you can admire a fabulous view of the Bay of Naples, Mount Vesuvius and Capri.

    Serrara Fontana is the highest and smallest town in Ischia. It is a quiet little town surrounded by trees and greenery. From here starts a path to go up the Mount Epomeo, where you see a magnificent view of the bay of Naples and the island of Capri.

It is full of shops, boutiques, cafés and restaurant, a perfect place to enjoy and relax, taking in the beautiful sight of the sea and the church of Soccorso, overlooking it. It is also home to the Torrione Museum, a watchtower built to lookout to pirates and attackers; and the beach of Citara, one of the most exclusive beaches of the island.

    Overlooking the sea rises the church of Soccorso and the tower of Torrione, two of the main staples of the small town of Forio. The church is a beautiful white building from where you can see an incredible view of the Mediterranean Sea.

    The tower of Torrione, used to be used to lookout to pirates and attackers, today it houses a beautiful museum of the history and culture of the island.

  • Fungo Di Lacco Ameno (Pass By)

    Lacco Ameno is a small town at the feet of Mount Epomeo, facing the sea. The name Lacco derives from the greek “lakkos” that means stone, Ameno instead is a name added afterwards. A famous landmark of this town is the "Fungo" a mushroom-shaped rock in the sea, sculpted by the wind and the waves.

Paolo is the man!

I only wish we had more time with Paolo! He tailored our day to our restricted time available (cruise) and made the perfect day for us. Paolo is terrific and a great family man….just the perspective we were looking for - and a life long resident of Ischia. Thanks so much Paolo!

While we were in Naples, we were curious to explore the island of Ischia, as suggested by an old family member who was there a few years ago, and we did not regret it! The island is just so beautiful and still so pure, away from the masses of tourists that you now see everywhere (and I pray it will stay like this forever, please keep this piece of paradise!). Our guide was an Ischia local, which gave the tour a special touch. This tour is perfect if you are staying in Naples and are looking for a day escape to Ischia, as the logistics are so well organized! Highly recommend visiting Ischia and doing it with this tour!

Best tour ever in Ischia with the lovely Carla, our guide! The instructions we received from the tour operator were spot on, and we easily met Carla at the Naples port after redeeming our ferry tickets purchased online the day before. We then started our amazing day in Ischia. The van was comfortable, and we had a great driver. Ischia is absolutely beautiful and so peaceful. We’re already thinking about staying there for a week next year. Can’t wait!
