Located in the most remote corner of southern China, why was it chosen by Britain for occupation and colonial establishment? I will use an engaging approach to tell you the legendary story of how Hong Kong evolved from a small fishing village into a global metropolis.

Tai Kwun is an intriguing tourist destination, once serving as Hong Kong's largest police station, magistrate's court, and prison. Here, I will share fascinating stories about the Hong Kong police force, including why, at the beginning of the colonial period, the police responsible for maintaining public order in Hong Kong were from India. Did you know that in addition to following British laws, early Hong Kong also enforced legal codes from the Qing Empire? What was Hong Kong's first prison like? And why did it later become a place to detain illegal immigrants from Vietnam?

Yau Ma Tei Fruit Market, established in the 1910s, is an old market. The colorful array of fresh fruits from around the world forms a striking contrast with the dilapidated buildings here. In this place, you can select and taste some fruits that are relatively rare in the West. Besides fruits, this area is also known for its active gang presence in Hong Kong, and there are many interesting tales from the underworld.

What a great day! Thanks to Kiyo, I saw Hong Kong and all its glory. Because I am older he tailored our tour to match my abilities. We walked, took a ferry, rode the subway and even took an Uber. We even stopped for tea in a local, family-owned tea shop. His knowledge of the history and love for his city is so evident. At the end of the day, I had beautiful pictures, wonderful stories and a real understanding of life here in Hong Kong.
Amazing Hong Kong adventure with Kiyo – highly recommended!

Our family's two-day trip to Hong Kong was truly unforgettable, and that’s all thanks to our amazing guide, Kiyo. His perfect English and deep knowledge of both famous sites and hidden gems made our experience both fun and informative. Plus, his friendly nature, punctuality, and attention to our specific needs, like our dietary restrictions, made everything so much easier and enjoyable. We loved visiting iconic spots like the Star Ferry and Victoria Peak, as well as the peaceful Chi Lin Nunnery, all while learning fascinating facts and stories from Kiyo. He was great at adapting our itinerary on the spot, especially after we’d just traveled through Southeast Asia, which really showed how much he cared about our experience. If you're looking to truly enjoy and understand Hong Kong, Kiyo is the guide you need. Our visit wouldn’t have been the same without him. Highly recommend!
