Overview

This is a unique tour led by a local guide in Western Cape. You get to spend time in the townships among the locals. We will also have a chance to have African traditional beer tasting that you'll surely never forget.

Itinerary

  • Khayelitsha

    Visits to Embengweni, Spade Boutique Hotel, City Centre, Look out hill and Kwa Ace. We will also stop for a lunch.

  • Guguletu

    African traditional beer tasting, Gugastebe, Dom Pass Hall and Brenda Fassie's home. We will also have the opportunity to see the Native yards 1, Guguletu 7, Amy Biehl memorial and Mzoli's drive by.

  • District Six Museum (Pass By)

    We drive through this area of Cape Town. Learn more about its traumatic past. You can be dropped at the Museum at the end of the tour should you wish to visit

Just Do It!

Definitely one of my favourite days in Cape Town. Our driver & guide, Tobiah is a local of the township & knows everyone. He’s like a local celebrity! Learnt a lot on this trip and all the locals were happy, friendly and welcoming. Not once did I feel unsafe throughout the tour. If you’ve any apprehensions about your safety- you need not have them. Would happily do this tour again!

Great Capeflat experience!!

This trip was a fantastic experience and turned out to be much better than expected. We felt safe the entire time and both of the expert guides, Tchobella (apology if misspelled!) and Wanda, were so passionate and knowledgeable about the “real side” of the history and current times of the townships! The whole trip lasted 4hrs and included two drive throughs of the bigger townships and then a walking tour through langa, which was very insightful as we were welcomed warmly by the locals. Thanks a lot and we would totally recommend this trip.

We did the township tour and I would 100% recommend it to anyone! You spend time in the township and learn a lot, get a peek into the daily life with a guide that lives there and shows you around. It’s a safe experience which explains how it is to grow up and live there, some political background and a local beer tasting. The tour guide Wanda was very knowledgeable, I recommend tourists to tip after the trip and buy a souvenir from the local shop, their life is hard enough as it is. Great experience, I hope they get a lot more visitors and that their situation improves (you support by visiting with this local organization!)

A chance to see the Africa not on the safari circuit. It gives a glimpse into lives of the majority of South Africans and the hardships they endure. Our guides were very informative. We went on short walking tours in the safer areas. Well worth it
