Miradouro de Nossa Senhora da Conceicao

Monument of Nossa Senhora da Conceição, from this place you can see the historic center of the city and the bay of Horta on one side and, on the other, Praia do Almoxarife. You can also see the neighboring Pico Island and the highest point in Portugal, Pico Mountain. On days without clouds, you can still see the island of São Jorge and Graciosa. Without a doubt, a place with a privileged view!

Flamengos

On the route to Caldeira do Faial we will take a road with excellent views of the entire parish of Flamengos. This is the only parish on the island that has no sea around it and is surrounded by mountains and volcanoes.

Caldeira

Located in the center of the island, Caldeira is the true ex-libris of Faial. It is one of the largest volcanic craters in the Azores, which was at the origin of the island, measuring about 2000 meters in diameter, seven kilometers in perimeter and 400 meters in depth.

Capelinhos

Site of great volcanic beauty. It is one of the biggest tourist attractions of the Atlantic, namely the Azores. Its landscape reminds us of a lunar environment. Enjoy the contrast of the gray of the sands with the green of the hills and the blue of the sky and the sea.

Excellent Experience!

Our half day tour trip with Ramiro was excellent. Ramiro contacted us the day before to confirm pickup time. He was punctual, extremely polite, accommodating and very knowledgeable as a resident of Faial Island. It was supposed to be a semi-private tour but we were his only tourists of the day so it turned into a private tour and as such we spent extra time at places that interested us. Definitely a great tour to see and learn everything about Faial! Romiro even dropped us off wherever we needed to go at the end of the tour and sent us a list of places to visit the following day in our rental car on Pico. Great guy and R Azores Tours is highly recommended! You won’t be disappointed!

Ramiro was INCREDIBLE! He knew so much about the island and gave us great insight into the history as well as the local’s experience. He gave us plenty of time to explore the sites on our own and gave us suggestions for how to get the most out of each experience. I would highly recommend this tour - one of our top experiences in the Azores!

Ramiro was an excellent host. Just 6 of us in the tour, a good number to get involved with the others and with Ramiro. Faial is a beautiful island with an interesting history. I strongly recommend this tour.

In these tours the guide plays a very important role, and we were lucky to have Ramiro. Although we had booked 3 different tours on different islands in the Azores, Ramiro was the only one to message me a day in advance, providing me with his contact number and the comfort that we're on track; this was greatly appreciated!!! Ramiro was also fantastic in explaining the various stops, and checking whether we want to alter anything, whether we want to spend more or less time at each stop, catering for our interests. This made the tour quite fabulous!
