Had a beautiful and relaxing day driving along the coast south of Athens, visiting the Temple of Poseidon along with beachside stops to enjoy the Agean and others to enjoy pastries and a wonderful fresh lunch at a fish market / restaurant at a small village waterfront. Nikolas shared great I formation, history and wonderful conversation.

A Day Well Spent Exploring the Athens Coast

We took the Athens Riviera tour to Cape Sounio, and overall, it was a great day out. Niko, our guide, was friendly and shared a lot of interesting facts about the area and Greek history. He was fantastic with the kids in our group, keeping them entertained and happy throughout the day. The tour started with a quick stop at a little café to change into swimwear, grab a coffee, and get ready for the beach — nothing fancy, but it did the job. The beach itself was a hidden gem: clear water, almost no crowds, and a perfect spot to relax and swim. The visit to the Temple of Poseidon was the highlight. It's an impressive site with amazing views, and going during the day meant we could explore without fighting the sunset crowds. Our last stop was a local taverna for lunch, where the food was delicious and felt like a real Greek experience. A minor hiccup with paying by card was quickly sorted, and we ended up paying cash, which was fine. All in all, it was a memorable day with beautiful views, great history, and an easy-going vibe.

This is a nice little getaway from the hustle that is Athens. The beach that the group is taken to is low key and the water is beautiful. Niko does a great job interacting with everyone and getting people involved in a conversation. He tells of the myths and history of the silicate sights and can go more in depth with other questions as well. The lunch is a nice topping to the cake as everyone in the group gets a chance to just talk and experience the Greek culture of food. This tour is certainly worth considering if you want to get a little out of the city, enjoy the water and see a historical site. An added bonus is learning about Greece as well.
