Katia was a fantastic food sherpa, taking us to three separate tapas bars that each had something different to offer. Her knowledge of and passion for Spanish wine was great for a fellow oenophile like myself, and she was more than happy to discuss all things viticultural with me.

Our guide, Inma, was just wonderful. She was so knowledgeable and interesting and really made the Granada experience come to life. I would highly recommend this experience!

We had an excellent time on this tour. Katia was a fantastic guide and took us to 3 different tapas restaurants to sample a variety of styles of dishes. Along the way we got to sample some delicious olive oil, learn why ham is so central to Spanish cuisine and visit a local spice shop. Katia was great about explaining the history of the restaurants and dishes we were trying. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the food and the wine (which was excellent and plentiful). It was also a great experience getting to visit with other fellow travelers and hearing their experiences. We were about 10 people from all across the globe (US, Singapore, Australia and Austria) which was the perfect size, and everyone had a great attitude. The conversation flowed freely and it was just an overall excellent evening. I only wish we had done this our first night in Granada so we could have gone back and visited some of the restaurants again. Casa Castaneda was my favorite, but they were all outstanding.

This was an extremely fun, filling, and educational outing with Katia! She guided us through the old city to various restaurants-both modern and traditional-for some fantastic tapas and wines. In addition to teaching us about tapas and customs, she gave us an olive oil tasting and pointed out the differences of some of the tapas when they were enjoyed with different oils. We also learned a lot about wines in Spain and the various wine growing regions. Our last stop was at a dessert place where we could pick our sweet treat to enjoy with a glass of cava. We were stuffed! Katia was an excellent guide. Our group was fantastic. The food and wine were spectacular. I give this Spain Food Sherpas tour my highest praise. What an awesome evening and fun, laughter, food, and drink!!!

We recently had the absolute pleasure of joining Marcell’s food tour in Granada, and I can confidently say it was the highlight of my entire trip. His warm, friendly demeanour immediately made everyone feel welcome. Marcell’s extensive knowledge of Spanish history, customs, and its incredible cuisine added so much depth to the tour. Every stop was thoughtfully chosen, offering not just delicious food but also fascinating insights into local traditions and the stories behind each dish. His passion for Spanish gastronomy was contagious and I left with a whole new appreciation for the culinary culture. This was a journey through Granada’s rich heritage, guided by someone who truly loves sharing his expertise. This was an authentic and insightful taste of Spain and the best tour of my trip!
