Overview

If you want a getaway from Frankfurt, Rothenburg ob der Tauber is perhaps the most romantic place to go. It is considered by many as the perfect German fairy tale town. As a Free Imperial City from the 13th century onwards, it was one of the most important city-states of the Middle Ages. Learn all about the famous story of the "Master draught". Admire the Town Hall Tower and listen to that story and its outcome. Don’t miss the Master-Builder's House, one of the “loveliest renaissance houses in Rothenburg”. Pass the famous Plönlein, famous for its beauty and presence in many iconic Hollywood movies. Pass the Church of St. James, with its ”The Last Supper” masterpiece of Tilman Riemenschneider, the only protestant church with a roman-catholic relic in Germany. This excursion will take you from Frankfurt to Rothenburg by train, to then arrive with your private guide to this beautiful city.

Our tour guide Jurgen was fabulous. He was very knowledgeable about the area and places we visited. He also stopped at places for photo opportunities which was great.

Mr. Ekkehard Werner was an amazing tour guide. He knew an immense amount of knowledge, not just regarding Rothenburg, but world knowledge as well. It was a great time learning with him about the town, Germany's history, and touring the town as well. We were able to cover everything and he was very descriptive. My family and I were very pleased with our experience. I would recommend this tour to our family and friends!
