Overview

Your day trip begins with a hotel pick at either Moshi or Arusha then jump in for a relaxing drive to Marangu gate for registration with the authorities before you begin your long-awaited hike. This route approaches the mountain from the southeast part. Our main task for the day is to make sure we reach Mandara Hut, the first point of a full hike. We will only trek through the lower attitudes, taking our picnic lunch en route to Mandara Hut. Once we are at Mandara Hut, we will rest for approximately 30 to 45 minutes before we begin our slow descent back to the Main Gate. Our driver will be waiting for you to drive you back to your hotel with relaxing music and cold or warm Kilimanjaro beer to take away the tiredness. Not only should you climb it but drink it too. Please bring your own nondisposable water bottle.

Unforgettable hike!

We will never forget this day hike on the legendary Mt Killimanjaro. We were fortunate to have Joel as our guide who is a consummate professional: his confidence and wisdom about climbing the mountain is due to extensive experience accumulated over many years as a mountain guide. If I were to undertake climbing to the summit I would want Joel to be the guide. For a day trip he is a dear guide!

Wonderful hike to Mandara Hut

Went on a lovely day hike from Mrangu Gate to Mandara hut. Guided by the amazing Joel who is a wealth of information. When one of us too a stumble and scrapped their knee, we was right there helping to bandage it up and thinking of alternative ways to keep on schedule for our original plan of a 5 pm departure time.

The trek was incredibly picturesque, enhanced by the delightful company of a knowledgeable Tanzanian guide. His intelligence added immense enjoyment to the experience. He shared fascinating insights about the mountain, its history, the local wildlife, their habitats, as well as Tanzanian politics and sports. The lunch provided was satisfying, accompanied by an ample supply of water. Moreover, he was attentive to adjusting his pace to accommodate my requirements. Gratitude is owed for such a remarkable experience, one that will linger in my memory indefinitely

My husband and I reserved a one-day hike to Mandara Hut on Kilimanjaro with our guide, Mr. Joel. He picked us up from the hotel at 6 am and returned us by 8 pm.
