Overview

With this tour you can see the full east side of the island starting on the south until we arrive to the viewpoint of Nossa Senhora da Paz, an amazing view to the coast, the ocean and to the mountains. Then we will make our way to Furnas volcano, where you will get the chance to see one of the places where the volcanic activity is most present and this is where you will be able to relax on the hotsprings of Terra Nostra, and also see and taste the famous "cozido" - the stew that is cooked underground with the heat from the volcano! After lunch, we will go to the first settlement of the island - Povoação - inside of an extinct volcano and then, leaving this beautiful place, we go through Nordeste which is the most eastern point of the Island and known for its pristine gardens and flowers. You will get to have several views over the coast and even see a waterfall. The final stop of this tour will be the local tea plantations - the only one in Europe that produces green & black tea.

Best Tour Guide Ever!

I have done many tours through my travels but none can compare to the one that Samuel took us on! He was so passionate and knowledgeable about the island. We were lucky to have a private tour as we were a large group of 6 and Samuel personalized the tour and was able to add a few other quick stops of things we wanted. His knowledge of the island and key places really stood out for this. I cannot recommend this tour enough! We had the best time on our last full day on the island and will be talking about this tour of years to come! Especially the waterfalls and viewpoints that we saw. Thank you for giving us this great experience! I will be looking forward to going on another tour to a different part of the island with Samuel.

One of the best tours

Our whole experience was most memorable; from our first stop at a little church with 110 steps up, sampling water at Furnas, Poca da Dona Beija thermal baths, waiting for the famous stew to come out of the ground and eat it at Bannhos Ferricos restaurant, Povoacao, wonderful view stops, the lighthouse, Nordeste, water fall, tea plantation & a quick stop at the supermarket for a few beverages. Samuel was an absolute amazing tour guide! Thank you so much, you entertained us, gave us so much information on the Azores and Portugal! We will be sure to recommend you to our friends.

Excellent experience with Green Corner!

We had a wonderful time on our tour with Sam. He was very knowledgeable, kind and easy to talk to. We told him several places we wanted to go and he made sure to time it right. We also expressed physical limitations and he catered the trip to our needs without sacrificing any of the experience. We loved Sao Miguel and will definitely recommend Green Corner to our friends on their visits!

Stunning views and a brilliant tour guide

The tour with Samuel was the absolute highlight of our weekly stay on the island. While it may seem the northern part of Sao Miguel is less popular, we witnessed a sheer volume of beauty and were quite frankly overwhelmed with all the views, waterfalls and flora. The day was also rich in context: Samuel told us everything there is to know about the history, culture, economy, geography, geology, cuisine, traditions and people of Azores. Cannot recommend enough to spend the day with this knowledgeable guide and enjoying some of the most beautiful corners of our planet.
