Overview

Mumbai city experience is organized to provide a cultural experience of Mumbai. The highlights include a visit to the World’s biggest open air laundry, street markets, Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, Big Ben of Mumbai, Gateway of India, Hanging gardens and the magnificent Siddhi Vinayak temple.

  • Dhobi Ghat

    We head to Dhobi Ghat, the world’s biggest open air laundry. Built in 1890, Dhobi Ghat has been battling washing machines over the last 100 years and engages 7000 washermen who wash Mumbai’s clothes!

    We visit Crawford market, Mumbai’s best market for fresh produce like fruits and vegetables. This market is very popular for festive shopping as well. Great bargains are available on crockery, chocolates and even pets!

  • Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus

    CST is a UNESCO heritage building and the best example of Victorian Gothic Revival architecture in India. What is remarkable is that the Gothic elements are blended with themes deriving from Indian traditional architecture. With more than 6 million daily commuters, CST is one of the busiest train stations in the world.

  • Rajabai Clock Tower

    Rajabai Tower located in the Mumbai University complex is often called the Big Ben of Mumbai. A UNESCO heritage site, Rajabai Tower is an important Revival-Gothic heritage building . This 125 years old structure is a blend of Gothic and Art Deco elements.

  • Gateway of India

    Gateway of India is the most popular structure of Mumbai. It was built to welcome the arrival of King George V and Queen Mary in 1911. The structure of this magnificent gateway is a triumphal arch, built predominantly in an Indo-Saracenic architectural style with some Muslim elements incorporated. On February 28, 1948, the last British troops passed through the Gateway of India in a ceremony signaling the end of British rule in India.

  • Hanging Gardens

    We visit a magnificent garden dedicated to Pherozeshah Mehta, a prominent Parsi political leader. One of the rare green spaces in the city of Mumbai, the Hanging gardens also provide spectacular views of the Arabian Sea.

    The last leg of the Mumbai experience takes you to the most famous temple in Mumbai. Siddhi Vinayak temple is more than 200 years old and is dedicated to Lord Ganesh whose idol here is made out of a single black stone.

Action packed day exploring Mumbai with a fantastic guide.

Had an action packed day! Sharan my guide was great - so many people greeted him warmly throughout the day so he must be very well-regarded here. Sharan tailored the day to my interests which meant that we were able to go to several extra places, and he also chose a great lunch destination based on my food of choice! Good laid back tour of Mumbai. I liked the pace and the info from our guide Pankaj. He was informative and knowledgeable. Some tour guides feel they have to chatter every minute and I hate that because I also like to enjoy driving around the city and observe. Pankaj was quieter but friendly and interesting. I really enjoyed the tour. It was raining and I had a knee injury - Pankaj and the driver rearranged the itinerary to take into account the rain and to help me manage the steps. Much appreciated!

Pankaj and Prasanth were very competent guides around the city! As Mumbai locals, Pankaj was able to give us the facts and historical context about all the places we saw, and Prasanth was able to navigate the crazy traffic like a professional! We were well looked after and also got to enjoy a traditional lunch!
