Overview

We will head southwest on Provincial Route 86, enjoying the landscapes of Cacheuta until we cross the tunnel that connects this town with Potrerillos. We will contemplate the wonderful view of the Cordón del Plata, Mendoza’s main source of water and, of the picturesque Potrerillos Dam, a mirror of crystalline water in the middle of mountains. We will continue along this path, contemplating the unforgettable landscape, going through tunnels and bridges, until we reach the town of Uspallata. Again we will make a strategic stop to get a better view of the Valley as a whole. Already back in the van, we will move a few kilometers, until we reach “Puente del Inca”. Mandatory stop icon of our mountain range. Once we return to the route, the Aconcagua Provincial Park awaits us. There we will obtain the corresponding permits to make a walk of approximately one hour, to the viewpoint of the Laguna de Horcones, where we can see the South Wall and the summit of the highest hill in America.

Unforgettable day in the Aconcagua Park with Federico and Mauricio. This place is definitely one of the wonders of the world and Federico is not only an experienced mountain guide but also the local custodian and historian with endless knowledge abut the region. Whole family was happy and tired in the end and we got a good flavour of the beauty of Aconcagua - but now want to experience a longer stay up in the mountains for next time.

Did the Aconcagua experience today with our driver Roberto and our guide Frederico. We were unsure whether to drive ourselves, get the bus to and from Aconcagua or do this experience and we are delighted we chose this experience. Great information throughout about the history and incredible views at Aconcagua. Highly recommend this activity!

It was one of the best tour I have done since in Latin America, Federico knows everything about surroundings, ecosystems, geology, history TODO. He also has good recommendations and good vibe. The tour itself is really complete and even if I arrived tired in the morning I did not even sleep as it is always something to see or to learn and landscapes were blowing my mind and all the informations keeping my curiosity so up . He even gave me the willingness to do the Aconcagua peak ascension next summer! Let’s see! Thank you again !

Great 1 day outing into the Andes

Excellent tour, we were picked up promptly from our hotel in Mendoza city as arranged, by driver Marcos and tour guide Federico, along with other passengers. There’s a fair bit of driving to get to the Aconcagua park but there are plenty of stops, including the Puente del Inca. The guides were responsive to the passengers’ needs and questions. Federico gave us some information as we drove (in both Spanish and English). The views of the reservoir, the Andes and particularly Aconcagua are stunning. We were provided with a decent breakfast and lunch. Be aware, you won’t actually go to Aconcagua itself, more scenic views of it. Apparently climbing the mountain is a 15 day project! If you only have a day, I’d recommend this tour

The bilingual guide was great, and while there were 12 Spanish speaking tourists and just myself as a native English speaker, he took equal time explaining things on the trip to me in English
