We are discovering a mountain village above Brunnen with an incredible stunning viewpoint towards Lake Lucerne and the Swiss Alps. A long time ago Winston Churchill and Queen Victoria have visited the place and fall in love with Switzerland.

Lake Lucerne

The private tour continues with a visit to a Swiss village in the canton of Uri, which lies directly on Lake Lucerne. A breath of southern flair comes upon us with the palm trees, fig trees and vines. At the same time, the view of the imposing mountain peaks combined with the rushing water is simply dreamlike.

Drive along the Klausenpass where we do various stops to enjoy the views, visiting one of our favorite cheese factories in Switzerland and cook a traditional raclette in the wild nature. In summer you can see over 1000 cows on the meadows.

Visit of a hidden waterfall in the UNESCO World Heritage Sardona. Here, you will have the rare opportunity to walk behind the cascading water and immerse yourself in its splendor.

Finally, we head to one of Switzerland's most renowned chocolate makers, where you have the chance to taste delicious chocolate and buy souvenirs for huge bargains.

Great experience on the hidden gems tour in Switzerland

My husband and I had a great day on the “Hidden Gems” tour to central Switzerland. We were picked up in Zurich in the morning by our tour guide Julian, who really took good care of us all day. While driving to lake Lucerne, he explained the rich history of Switzerland and its many cantons. On our first stop, we could experience the picturesque mountain village of Bürglen, where the national hero William Tell was born according to legend. It has a beautifully decorated church which is worth visiting. We also had the chance to taste some fresh bread from a local bakery. After that, we went up to a beautiful mountain valley with waterfalls, where after a short hike we were served a local snack on top of a hill, with tasty cheese, meat and bread. Our guide Julian even offered us traditional homemade hot wine and cookies, as our tour took place in the beginning of winter. The weather was not that great on that day, but we could still experience some stunning views of the mountains. We then had lunch on the shore of Lake Lucerne, with hot raclette cheese, made on a small portable grill. It was super delicious! In the afternoon, we drove up a narrow road to a quite hidden spot where we had an amazing view of the lake and surrounding mountains. In the end, we had the chance to visit a local Christmas market next to a large beautiful monastery, and taste some more of the local specialities. Julian always asked how we were doing, was very flexible regarding the program, and always provided some good suggestions where we could take photographs. We highly recommend booking this tour, as it was a very unique experience and well organized, and we loved to try the local food and drinks.

Don't Miss This Tour

Manuel was our guide for this amazing tour. One of the couples in our group had some health issues and Manuel was so kind and helpful in assisting them on the tour. The weather wasn't ideal, but Manuel made the tour so much fun we forgot about the rain and mist! We stopped at local villages, went for walks in the countryside and Manual made a local traditional lunch for us in the countryside. The last stop was at a chocolate shop where we were able to have a tour, taste the chocolates and get some gifts to take home. I highly recommend this tour and that you ask for Manuel as a guide!

Highlight of my Switzerland Vacation

A big thank you to Myswisspanorama! I booked a private tour to explore Switzerland including the countryside and mountains, and it far exceeded my expectations. Marc, our guide, was incredibly friendly and had extensive knowledge about Switzerland’s history and culture. He introduced us to stunning hidden gems that we would never have found on our own. Tucked-away and unspoiled scenery and amazing guide.

Our family has enjoyed the trip tremendously. My two young children had a blast at a quite spot around the Lake Lucerne; The five of us were blown away by the beauty of Swiss alps. The Raclette picnic was classic. Manuel was super friendly with my two girls and knowledgeable of the Alps. He also took great care of my elder parents by keeping an eye on where and when we could find facilities. 10 out of 10. Totally worthy it!
