Tian'anmen or the Gate of Heavenly peace is a symbol of new China, located in the center of Beijing, It was first built in 1417 and was originally called the Gate of Heavenly Succession, which served as the main entrance to the former Imperial City. At the end of the Ming dynasty in 1644, it was seriously damaged in a war. When it was rebuilt in 1651 in the Qing dynasty, the name was changed to Tian'anmen.

The Forbidden City is located in the center of Beijing. It used to be the former Imperial Palace for the Ming and Qing emperors. Actually it was the imperial palace for the emperor and served as both living quarters and the venue of the state administration. The last dynasty was overthrown by the 1911 Reyolution. In 1925 the whole complex was converted into a museum and opended to the public. And then it was called Palace Museum. in 1987 it was listed as the world cultural heritage by UNESCO.
