I booked this experience for the 31st of December but the weather was really poor with no visibility. We were offered to get either a refund or re-book on a different date. We opted to book for 2 days later (earliest availability). That evening, the night sky was clear and crisp and visibility was great. The city looked stunning at night and you got to spend as much time as you want on the observation deck. There are some steps that you can climb on and you can (safely) take pictures of the city over the glass wall so the pictures don't have window reflections. Additionally, sitting on the glass floor and looking down at the traffic under the deck is really quite an experience (at least for people with fear of heights/depth).
What I really like about this experience was that you did not feel shepherded from one place to another and told after 2 minutes that you need to move on and make room for the next group (such as it happened at One Vanderbilt). Also, it was considerably cheaper that One Vanderbilt. I would definitely recommend this skyscraper experience for viewing the city.
