  • Horseshoe Canyon

    A glacier-carved "U" surrounded by golden prairie, the aptly named Horseshoe Canyon is a dramatic introduction to the badlands.

  • Royal Tyrrell Museum

    Features ten signature galleries devoted to paleontology, with 40 dinosaur skeletons with more than 110000 fossil specimens. (Optional)

  • Drumheller's Little Church

    This church was first erected by local contractor Trygve Seland, in cooperation with the ministerial Association in 1968 and was reconstructed by inmates of the Drumheller Institution in 1991. It was designed as a place of worship and mediation and not just a tourist attraction.

  • The Hoodoos

    The Drumheller hoodoos are internationally recognized icons of the Alberta badlands. Composed of sand and clay from the Horseshoe Canyon Formation, the solid, strong capstones protect the softer, underlying base creating their unique mushroom-like shape.

Awesome Day Trip to Drumheller and Alberta Badlands

Super awesome day trip outside of Calgary! The tour guide was professional, really knew what he was doing, and provided us with many interesting facts as we drove to our destinations. The natural landscapes were absolutely incredible, particularly the stop at Horseshoe Canyon which was great for taking pictures. The stop at the Hoodoos was my favorite part which was where we got to do some climbing. It's important to bring shoes with good grip if you want to go off the trail and do some freestyle climbing. The 2.5 hours allocated at the Royal Tyrell Museum was perfect; just enough time to see everything and check out the gift shop. Overall, if you've never seen badlands before and like dinosaurs, I definitely recommend this trip!

I wish I was a palaeontologist. To be able to have discovered Dinosaurs and artefacts from millions of years ago must be amazing. The museum and canyon was superb.

We were greated by the guide in good time. We stopped at several places including the main stop the dinosaur museum. I would recomment this tour for anyone that is interested in learning about dinosaurs.

This was a really nice day out seeing what is around Drumheller and the dinosaur fossils at the museum were fantastic. Really great guide and the day was well paced. Would recommend.
