If seasonal markets are open you’ll visit them – like the Christmas markets at Stallhof, Neumarkt, and Striezelmarkt. Try mulled wine and traditional stollen!
The journey to Dresden is about 2 hours each way, with 2,5-3 hours in Dresden (plus hiking 1,5h). Start with a guided tour, then enjoy some free time.

The Dresden Zwinger
Zwinger is a fancy palace in Dresden, built by a king named Augustus the Strong to show off his wealth and host extravagant parties in the early 18th century. You will see the stunning baroque architecture and ornate exterior of Zwinger Palace, including the grand entrance gate and beautiful fountains (in summer 2023 is the courtyard reconstructed). /Expect 12 minutes walk from the car park - probably parking at Centrum Galerie Dresden.

Optionally, you can visit the Dome's viewing platform, accessible via 174 steps (no elevator). Entry fee to the observation platform is not included (10 EUR/person). From there, you'll enjoy a unique view of Dresden, first glimpsing the church interior and then the cityscape. Those who don't go to the viewpoint can spend time on Neumarkt Square right in front of the church at the Neumarkt Christmas Market.

Add to your order: If you want to add some more hiking, I recommend visiting Tisa Rocks, part of Bohemian Switzerland. It is a labyrinth made of sandstone. You walk through narrow mysterious passages and also climb to the tops of the rock towers for a view. Entrance fee 30 CZK/person. If you book it, it will be included on the way to Dresden, we will spend about 1hr walking (difficult terrain). If booked it will make the tour longer! (approx 9-10 hrs)
