There’s nothing better than exploring a bustling Dresden's traditional German Christmas market on this small group tour (max 8ppl) only 2hrs drive from Prague! The Dresden Christmas Market is the oldest in Germany and is known locally as Striezelmarkt. Your English-speaking guide will lead a walking tour of Dresden City that hits all the highlights. A delicious A la Carte lunch in a local restaurant is included. On the way to Dresden, we stop in Saxon Switzerland, where you can explore the most beautiful views over the national park from The Bastei bridge. An easy walk across this famous sandstone bridge, gets you to visit the ruins of an old rock castle from the 12th century.

  • Prague

    Your guide will pick you up at your hotel in Prague in the early morning. From that point, our mission is to give you everything you need to enjoy the day trip to the fullest. During the drive to the Northern Region in our comfortable fully outfitted vehicle  (1,5 hrs), we will provide you with a knowledge of the National Park, Czech country, and information about the trip and FREE WIFI.

    We will stop in the middle of the Saxon Switzerland National park, where you can explore the most beautiful views over the Elbe canyon from the The Bastei. Easy walk across this famous sandstone bridge, which is a highlight of the national park, gets you to explore ruins of old Neurathen rock castle from 12th century.

    We will pick you up from your address in Prague and drive you 2hrs with our new modern minivan with FREE wifi into the Saxon Switzerland National Park in Germany. Free snacks and water for a whole day will be available from the start and our local English speaking guide will tell you more about Czech and German traditions on the way.

Well worth the tour! Spectacular views. And the Christmas market much more than in Prague. Sam could not have been more accommodating and outgoing. Highly recommend this option!!

Beautiful Excursion with a Great Guide

We took this tour with Sam on a misty overcast day, December 4, 2024. While Sam could not deliver the sun, he was great in leading our small group on the tour of the Bastei Bridge and Dresden. The views from the bridge of the Elbe were misty but beautiful and Sam was always available to take pictures or show us interesting features of the area so that we did not miss a thing. The catapult steps were cool and Sam knew the history of the area so we came away with an appreciation of what used to be there. Our lunch in Pirna was tasty and we got treated to not only good food but Sam's great sense of humor. I appreciate good puns and Sam delivered. LOL Because we were on a schedule, we did not get to explore Pirna's Christmas Market - that would have been fun. The town is very cute. Once in Dresden, Sam took us on a tour of the city around the area where the Christmas Market was located. The area was filled with incredible buildings that had been restored since the bombing and Sam was able to show us quite a bit before we were left to our own devices in the market. Our only regret was that we couldn't stop in the chocolate/candy shop that Sam told us about - because we shopped so much in the market! We were able to find some unique items among the vendors, but not many. Sam's tour leadership style was comfortable and fun. He is well versed in the history and nuances of the places we saw/went. I wished that we had more time as there just wasn't time to linger too much once in Dresden because of the lack of light (can't tour well in the dark and cold) and the need to eventually get back to Prague!

A great option for a day trip. Went for the Christmas markets and a light tour of Dresden. Just a quick 2 hour drive from Prague. Sam made our journey comfortable, fun, and chocked full of puns.

Our family had such a great time on this tour! Our guide, Sam was such an excellent host and took us at our pace which was much appreciated. Not to mention he was super friendly and funny and our whole group ended up having a blast! Would definitely book a tour with this company again.
