Overview

Nestled 3mi (5 km) from the city center of Arezzo, you're just a 10 minute drive from this unique wine tasting opportunity. One of the 13 most beautiful wineries of Tuscany, thanks to its unique wine cellar in bio-architecture, and the 'Think Green' philosophy for a sustainable and environment-friendly production. The tour offers the chance to visit vineyards, wine cellar and taste 3 wines matched with Tuscan cold cuts, pecorino cheese, and bruschetta with our organic extra-virgin olive oil.

Meeting points

In front of the tasting room. No public transports to the winery. You can rent a car/take a taxi from town (only 5km away, around €15/ride). By car with GPS: Via delle Conserve 50, 52100 Arezzo, to avoid the longest way, once at the destination, go straight for 2km and you'll find us on the right.

Itinerary

Pomaio - Wines & Hospitality

Wine Taste&Tour is our personal interpretation of a wine tasting. An experience branded Podere di Pomaio that takes places in a couple of relaxing and interesting hours focused on organic quality wine and its production. Most of the experience takes place in the open air, and the tasting too can take place in the terrace garden of the winery, under the Tuscan sun (according to the weather). The experience is safe and enjoyable, thanks to the big outside area we have. The tour is divided in 3 phases. A tour of the vineyard will introduce us to the principles of organic cultivation, a tour in the modern ECO-Green cellar, included among the 14 most beautiful modern wineries of Tuscany, will tell us more about the vinification technique and everything that is related to an organic production. We'll end our tour with a tasting of 3 wines combined with great craft food from local producers.

The wine was great and they served a plate of cheeses, meats, and bread. The tour guide was well versed in their sustainability. We enjoyed the experience.

Great wine, olive oil and great staff! Well worth the money and time spent doing this trip. The ride up to the property is a little steep so be prepared for that.

We booked this last minute and it was such a great experience. The tour was really informative about the vineyard and the wine industry in the region and the tasting was out of this world. Our host taught us the tricks to a good tasting and identifying the different profiles. Plus the food was incredible as was the wine. A must do when in Arezzo!

Iacopo was an excellent guide. Tho the tour was short, it was sweet and they didn’t rush us, but allowed us to take our time. We learned about the wine they produce and about the tasting process. We tasted 3 different types of red wine, along with some local charcuterie and the olive oil they produce as well. Everything was tasty! We didn’ know, but they also offer cooking lessons, which I advice you check out. Overall I would recommend the experience!
