Overview

Cu Chi Tunnels and Mekong Delta One Day is a small group tour that allows you to avoid the crowded touristy bus. Group size of 2 to 12 passengers per van. We will pick-up at your hotel in districts 1, 3, and 4. - Explore the Cu Chi Tunnels' underground system. - Mekong River motorboat and rowing boat rides - Take a tour of a coconut candy factory and sip honey tea on a bee farm. - Listen to Vietnamese traditional folk music, visit the fruit garden, and taste tropical fruit.

Itinerary

  • Cu Chi Tunnels

    We’ll pick you up at your Ho Chi Minh City hotel in the early morning, and you’ll travel with your English-speaking guide to the Cu Chi tunnels. The drive is around 60 km. At Cu Chi, you’ll be shown a documentary film about the tunnels and learn how the locals made bamboo traps, rice paper, and rice wine. You’ll then have the opportunity to explore the web of underground tunnels dug by Vietnamese resistance fighters.

  • My Tho

    After exploring the tunnels, we’ll drive to My Tho. This is one of the provinces that comprise the Mekong Delta area. We’ll cruise by boat along the upper Mekong through a region with islands named after 4 animals that appear in Buddhist writings – Dragon, Unicorn, Phoenix, and Turtle. On this part of the tour, you’ll observe some of the activities of regional Vietnamese daily life and appreciate how life here depends on the River. We’ll then take you on a trip by rowboat along the small waterways. You’ll see the agricultural richness of the delta region in its fruit orchards, coconut groves, and bee-keeping farms. We’ll stop so you can enjoy honey tea, seasonal fruit, fresh coconut candy, and southern Vietnamese folk music. At the end of our tour, we’ll drive back to Ho Chi Minh City and drop you off at your hotel at around 18:00.

A great trip combining two tours into one! Bunny was our tour guide who made the whole experience even more enjoyable! She was very knowledgeable, kind, thoughtful, funny and managed to lead our group swiftly. She told us a lot about Vietnam’s history and traditions going through the day and made sure that everyone felt welcome. We went to see a local arts place which employed handicapped people, then went to the tunnels, had lunch, went to the Mekong delta, where we went on a big boat and saw how coconut sweets are made, then tried some local alcohol and some local fruits, went on a canal tour on a smaller boat and tried some honey tea before heading back to our van on the big boat - overall a must see experience with a great tour guide!! Thank you Bunny!!

If you have limited time this is a great tour to see the tunnels and the Mekong Delta.

Very good tour - Tunnels and Mekong Delta in one day is a challenge but it felt unrushed and comfortable. The group was small and transport very comfortable. Lunch was excellent. Tu was an excellent guide and really made the tour enjoyable.

A must do trip when in Ho Chi Minh city

Excellent day trip from our hotel in Ho Chi Minh. Kim, our guide, kept us informed of pick up times prior to our day out and was so informative and helpful throughout the day. Great start at the Cu Chi tunnels, group was only 9 of us so easy to navigate and keep us all together but still giving that personal touch. Lunch there was lovely, great home cooked food and they catered for my wife’s preference to vegetarian meal. Onwards to the Mekong delta and, again, Kim was a wonderful guide explaining everything to us. All in all I would recommend this tour when visiting the city and I cannot praise Kim enough for her personal touch and making the trip a very enjoyable one.

Excellent one-day trip combining Vietnam's modern history and culture. Our guide, Bunny, was very professional, an excellent time-keeper, very knowledgeable on all topics -not only history, but also culture-, and with a great sense of humour! She also had a unique way to transmit her knowledge and make us remember Vietnam's history, we loved it! We had coconut candies, wine and fruit-tasting as well! Highly recommended!!
