Enjoy the unique mountain world of this former Olympic resort which includes the highest peak in Germany, the impressive walkable canyon "Partnachklamm", which can be reached from the ski stadium with the famous ski jumps, as well as sophisticated pedestrian zones, which invite you to a leisurely stroll. Built during the Nazi dictatorship for the 1936 Winter Olympics and remodeled for the planned Winter Olympics in 1940, which failed due to World War II. For this purpose, the two communities Garmisch and Partenkirchen were forcibly merged. Learn from your tour guide Stefan more about the darkest years 1933 - 1945, but also about the current use of the stadium and the ski jumps.

Partnachklamm

Please note that the Partnach Gorge can be temporarily closed due to maintenance work. The Partnachklamm is a fascinating 700 meters (1/2 mile) long and up to 80 meters (260 feet) deep gorge, through which the meltwater of the Zugspitze Glacier rages. It is safe to walk on all year round and is an ideal destination for any weather! Admission adults: € 6.00 Children (6 - 17 years): € 3.00 From the car park to the entrance of the gorge you need 25 minutes on foot or in season by horse-drawn carriage (about € 20.00 for 4 people each way)

From 21st May 2022 the world famous and because of the 2020 crises postponed Oberammergau Passion play will take place here. With a capacity of 4.500 spectators this theater is the world's largest open air stage with covered auditorium!

In less than an hour’s drive we reach the Bavarian capital, which is affectionately called "cosmopolitan city with heart". After another 50 minutes drive through Tyrolean territory along the breathtaking Plansee we reach the world-famous fairytale castle, Schloss Neuschwanstein. Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site

Even – or maybe especially – the darkest times in history provide many opportunities for learning, which is why the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial draws a steadily increasing stream of visitors from around the world. On a 1 - 2.5-hour audio-guide tour, you will be informed about the atrocities of the Nazi regime. (Please note that you will not be accompanied by your guide Stefan during your visit to the memorial.)

Innsbruck

The provincial capital of Tyrol can be reached via charming mountain routes. Expect a medieval city center on the Inn Bridge, fantastic viewpoints and the Swarovski Crystal Worlds in Wattens, which are definitely worth seeing. Please note that due to the distance Innsbruck cannot be combined with all excursion destinations - we are happy to advise you!
