Overview

Minutes from the famous Weeki Wachee Springs State Park mermaids see the river from a whole new perspective with this clear kayaking ecotour! Kayak through a quiet estuary where, fresh and salt water mix, before paddling up the very active and beautiful spring-fed waters of the river. Be on the lookout for wildlife like manatees, turtles, fish, birds and dolphins! A great adventure for beginner paddlers but we do paddle upstream for the first half of the tour, which is a workout and worth the drift paddle back to the launch site. Your guide will stop for pics along the away! Expect an adventure that is part wild and part urban as this iconic river is a popular one to enjoy living and recreating on! We stay in our kayaks for the duration of the tour. Please remember the river and wildlife is subject to daily changes in behavior and conditions. All kayaks are tandem. Weight limit of 250lbs per seat and 425lbs per kayak. One adult to one child is required unless otherwise arranged.

Please follow the parking signs for designated kayak tour parking area and follow the signs on foot to our kayak launch where you will meet your guide. We cannot accommodate guests that do not arrive 20 minutes prior to departure as these are small group guided tours.

    Take in these amazing views at Weeki Wachee in a 100% clear kayak! Our guided tours give you up-close-and-personal access to the beautiful spring wildlife and plant life! Along this 2-2.5 hour guided tour be on the lookout for manatees, dolphins, fish, turtles, birds, and more! We’ll start our clear kayaking adventure at Mary's Fish Camp. We start in the estuary of the Mud and Weeki Wachee Rivers. As we paddle through the winding waterways keep your eyes peeled for lots of wildlife! Our guide will take you on an adventure while giving you some unique information about the waterway and surrounding area. There’s so many photo opportunities along the way, so your guide will help take the perfect trip of your adventure! Please note: We stay in our kayaks for the duration of the tour as the Weeki Wachee is ecologically sensitive. Due to manufacturers restrictions the weight of an individual kayaker cannot exceed 250 pounds and the combined weight of two paddlers cannot exceed 425.

Gary’s 70th Birthday Paddle

This experience was amazing! Gary was a friendly and knowledgeable guide who taught us about the land through his great storytelling and pointed out lots of wildlife for us to see on our paddle out with him. We were able to see three manatees which was a life changing experience for my fiancé! We’d definitely book this excursion again and recommend to anyone looking for something to do in the area! Gary was even able to recommend a place to eat fresh fish in Tarpon Springs for dinner which we went to and had an amazing time.

Gary, our guide, was incredibly knowledgeable on the water sources and wildlife we encountered on our trip! He also had a great eye for manatees, and we were able to see several munching on sea grass. We had such an amazing time and hope to do this tour again on future vacations!
