Overview

In one day, all the secrets of Champagne, a cellars visit (commented in English only), Champagne tasting, a Reims cathedral visit. This excursion will take you traveling through the Champagne region and its capital, Reims. You will visit Reims Cathedral. You could after discover mystical and old champagne cellars. A professional guide in the cellars will give you explanations of Champagne. After the visit, you will, of course, taste some Champagne. In the afternoon, you will visit the Lighthouse of Verzenay. The top of this original tower, and its belvedere, offers a wonderful overview. Please note that this visit will be replaced by a visit to Epernay from November 27 to December 26, 2024. On the way back to Paris, you will discover the charming village of Hautvillers. This picturesque village is famous for being the place where Dom Pérignon discovered the Champagne method. Please note that this visit will be replaced by a visit to Epernay from November 27 to December 26, 2024.

    Any tour of Reims must begin with the Notre Dame Cathedral. And for good reason, it is an architectural jewel, the beauty of which is acclaimed unanimously. Larger than Notre-Dame de Paris, it also has an exceptional statuary: 2,303 statues adorn its facades. Biblical scenes, a gallery of kings, a bestiary, gargoyles, so many stories to tell for the guides who bring you to discover it. Inside, another beauty awaits you, that of stained glass: the first big Rose, which has just been renovated, but also contemporary stained glass, in the works by Marc Chagall and Imi Knoebel, for a subtle blend of tradition and modernity, bathing the Cathedral with a unique light.

2 Great Tours!

We took two wonderful tours with France Tourisme last week: the Loire Valley tour with Jean Pierre, and the Champagne region tour with Nicolas. Both guides were fantastic. There was no way we could have seen so much - in such an efficient way - on our own. Loire Valley would have been impossible to navigate and would have likely required a few days on our own. We could have taken a train to Reims, but we saw so much more being able to drive out into the hills, which was actually the best part. Everything was planned, timed and coordinated perfectly. It’s also great having friendly and knowledgeable guides to help learn more about the country and the areas. The Loire Valley tour was epic… a very busy day to see three very different castles. The Champagne tour felt more relaxed by comparison, but ended up being one of the highlights of our 8 day trip. Great experiences all around.
